Sure, they'll take your metal so you can recycle it and not put it in the landfill. But you want paid a fair price? Forget it. They may have OK prices, but they'll steal every chance they get. If you have to go to the specialty metal building (aluminum, copper, etc.) give them a 1' cardboard box with parts in it because you've painstakingly separated everything, they'll write in a 5lb tare (without weighing the box) so you get paid for ~4lbs less than you should.

Also, you had better know exactly what you have and have it all separated (just don't give them it in boxes to weigh, as above). Otherwise they will get annoyed for not knowing the exact metal you have, and also pay you a lower price.
