Bought a pricey Exide Gel battery from Parts Authority, and it only lasted about a year. Their store’s 25 minutes from me, which is annoying when you’re stranded with a dead battery. I called ahead that morning, gave them the exact model, and asked them to double-check stock since I was coming in. The worker I talked to didn’t want to actually look—just kept saying the system showed it in stock—but after I pushed, she finally checked and said they had three at the Scottsdale location. So I got a ride there, and the staff just shrugged and said they hadn’t had that model in months. Then she had the nerve to blame *me* for not calling ahead, even though I’d talked to her two hours earlier. The manager didn’t do anything to fix it either. No apology, no help—just bad service all around. I won’t be back, and I’d tell anyone else to go somewhere with decent customer service instead. ---
