Coming in with three transmissions, three engines, and a few heads plus all that aluminum, I expected more than sixty bucks. They called it a day, treating it like clean aluminum instead of paying for breakage like I’d told them upfront. I even mentioned before they unloaded that I needed breakage rates, not scrap metal prices. They still lowballed me, and when I said I’d take the whole load back, they wouldn’t let me.

Crashing into Hitchcock for the first time made me wonder where I was supposed to go. Then a guy motioned us over to the scales and walked us through everything, even leading us to where we could drop off cans that had been stacking up in my garage for eight years. Between my stock trailer, the tack room, and the truck bed, I was loaded down. The guy handling the can drop-off was just as great, explaining everything patiently. Later, Scott pointed me toward scrap in a different building, and another guy met us at the scale to walk through that part too. Best surprise was finally putting a face to Penny, since she’d been emailing me about Hitchcock picking up scrap from my job. Both ladies in the office were friendly as anything. I just want to say hats off to the whole crew. They took on 1,200 pounds of cans without batting an eye and did a killer job.

Honestly, I’d give this place five stars if not for the guy working the indoor scale. I said hi when I walked in, and he didn’t even look up. Then I put my scrap on the scale, and he just goes, *"That it?"* Like I was wasting his time. I said yeah, waited, got my ticket, and when I thanked him, he just stared at me—no response. Kid had piercings in both ears, looked like he’d rather be anywhere else. Not sure why he’s stuck inside dealing with customers when he clearly doesn’t want to be. ---

Every single time I deal with your drivers, it’s a nightmare. One cut me off without signaling, another flipped me off just for passing them. None of you have even a shred of professionalism—no discipline, no respect. Hope you go under. You all suck. ---

The women in the office are always friendly, no issues there. There’s one younger guy out in the yard who’s actually pretty cool. But the guys running the copper and aluminum scale? Forget it. One of them chewed me out for not knowing their "rules" like I was supposed to read his mind. Dude was downright nasty about it. ---

Pulled in late at night, and at least they had space to park. Went inside to ask where to drop my load, and the guy who answered the door was a total jerk—rude, hostile, and it wasn’t even dawn yet. Who wakes up that pissed off? But the crew running the equipment? Completely different story. They were polite, answered my questions, unloaded me fast, and got out of my way. At least *someone* there knows how to do their job. ---

Just stopped by, and they straight-up lowballed me on copper. What they paid was nowhere near what it should’ve been. Next time, I’m driving to Iowa. Not worth the hassle.
