Overview

Pipes U-Pull-It Auto Parts Salvage at 806 Aero Dr, Shreveport, LA 71107

Pipes U-Pull-It Auto Parts Salvage is a self-service auto salvage yard in Shreveport, Louisiana. Customers can browse the lot, find their own used car parts, and remove them with basic tools. This hands-on approach keeps prices lower than buying from auto parts stores. The yard also takes in scrap metal for recycling, handling steel, aluminum, copper, and other metals responsibly. Staff are on hand to help with part identification or tool access when needed.

The yard is open Monday through Thursday and Sunday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. It closes on Saturdays, so plan your visit during these hours.

Services & What to Expect

Pipes U-Pull-It is a self-service salvage yard, meaning you find and remove parts yourself. The lot carries used car parts from different vehicles, though inventory changes as new salvaged cars arrive. Basic tools like wrenches and pry bars are usually available, but bringing your own ensures you have what you need.

The yard also sells pre-inspected used parts that have already been removed and tested. This saves you the work of pulling parts yourself. Alongside auto parts, the yard accepts scrap metal for recycling, including steel, aluminum, and copper. If you need to get rid of an old car, nearby providers offer cash for junk cars.

How Self-Service Salvage Works

  • Visit during business hours (Monday–Thursday and Sunday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM).
  • Walk the lot to find the part you need. Vehicles are often grouped by make or year, but you may need to check a few to locate the right one.
  • Use the yard’s tools or your own to remove the part. Staff can help if you need extra equipment or advice.
  • Pay for the part by weight or at a set price, depending on the item. Scrap metal is sold by the pound.
  • Take the part and leave. No appointment is needed, and you can work at your own pace during open hours.

What to Bring

  • Basic tools (wrenches, sockets, pry bars) if you have them.
  • A vehicle to haul parts home. Some items are heavy or bulky.
  • Cash or a payment method the yard accepts. Call ahead to check if they take cards.
  • Gloves and safety gear, if you have them. Handling metal and dirty parts can be messy.
  • A part reference or your vehicle’s VIN to help identify what you need.

Parts Available

The yard’s selection changes often as new vehicles come in. You’ll typically find:

  • Engines and transmissions
  • Body panels (doors, hoods, fenders, bumpers)
  • Suspension parts (struts, shocks, control arms)
  • Braking components (calipers, rotors, brake pads)
  • Interior pieces (seats, dashboards, door panels)
  • Electrical parts (alternators, starters, wiring)
  • Exhaust systems (pipes, mufflers, catalytic converters)

Scrap metal is also sold by the pound, including steel, aluminum, and copper. Call ahead to check if a specific part is in stock.

Sold and bought a bunch of cars here over the years with no issues. Diane, Cory, and Chad were all great to deal with, and the one-year warranty seals the deal as long as you keep your receipt handy. Couldn’t ask for better.

Honestly, I’d skip this yard just to avoid the bearded guy in glasses inside the white building. Super rude, gets annoyed if you ask questions. Ramona and the younger girls are fine, but he ruins the whole experience. Never coming back.

I don’t usually recommend places outright, but this one’s an exception. If Toby’s the one handling the counter, you’re in good hands—honest to a fault and treats you right. Swing by his station soon. He’ll take care of you.

Found this place when I needed a front radiator insert for my Chevy Colorado. Called ahead and they said they had it in stock. Drove over, grabbed the part, and ended up picking up a few interior pieces too. Even snagged a bed liner from the yard at a great price. Saved over five hundred bucks compared to buying new. Solid business, no hassle.

The guys here are cool, and the yard itself isn’t some chaotic mess—everything’s actually organized pretty well. I’ll be back soon, no question.

Honestly, I don’t know why I don’t visit more often—there’s just something satisfying about digging through a junkyard. This time, we actually found a few decent used tires that were way cheaper than buying new ones. Worth the trip just for that.

Their website said they’d be open today, December 28th, but when I drove 55 miles to get here, the place was empty. No answer on the phone, no one inside—just the hours posted on the door. Total waste of time.

My girlfriend refused to wait for a "perfect" car, so I caved and bought her a Chevy from this place. I spent every weekend fixing it up—engine, transmission, the works—only for it to die on her after less than a year. $5k for the car, another $3k in parts, and all my free time down the drain. Now that hunk of junk is right back where it started. Lesson learned: never again. ---

Prices here are way up from what they used to be, and they only have two carts, so bring your own. But they cut me a decent deal, so I can’t complain too much. ---
