Listen, I hauled a load from this junkyard, and it was a total mess. The oil leaked everywhere inside my trailer, and now there’s damage I didn’t have before. I told the broker what happened, but all they did was cover the washout fee. Now I’m stuck—can’t take any more pickups today, and my whole week’s schedule is thrown off. If you’re thinking about coming here, budget an extra $500 for those "accessorial" fees they’ll hit you with. Not worth it.

The guys here were really patient with me. I had no idea how to sort or weigh the metal right, but they took the time to walk me through it step by step. No rushing, no attitude—just straightforward help. Made the whole process a lot easier. ---

Honestly, I’ve gone to a couple different yards, but Carren Street is the one I always end up at. Both places are solid, but this one just feels right. The crew there? They’re the real deal. First time you walk in, they’re polite and helpful, but once they get to know you, it’s like you’ve been coming there for years. They don’t mess around with prices either—always try to give you the best deal they can. At this point, I wouldn’t even think about going anywhere else. ---

So I brought in 110 pounds of solid steel—this wasn’t some flimsy scrap, it was a transmission jack, thick and heavy everywhere. First guy I talked to said, “Yeah, that’s short steel.” Then the manager took one look and said, “Nah, that’s tin.” I’d already hauled this stuff in twice, trying to get a fair shake, and now they’re telling me it’s not even worth the right price? After that, I’m done. From now on, if I’ve got anything better than tin, I’m taking it somewhere else. ---

The place is clean, the people are friendly, and they gave me a decent price on some cats. Oh, and they throw in these “points” for buying—you can use them to shop their catalog later. That’s a nice little extra that not every yard does. ---

I called about towing my mom’s old junker off her property, and the woman who answered—never even got her name, which I regret—made the whole thing worth writing about. I explained what I needed, and she flat-out told me they don’t do that anymore. Hadn’t in 15 years, apparently. I laughed and said, “Google says you do,” and instead of getting defensive, she laughed right along with me and apologized for not knowing who to point me to. Most people would’ve gotten snippy, but she kept it light. So yeah, they don’t haul cars, but the service? Top-notch. And the people? Even better. Ended up calling All City Auto Parts for the tow, but both places left a great impression.
