Let me put it this way—South West Salvage, or H.D. Mills & Sons, is run by some of the good ol’ boys you’d be lucky to meet. Greg Mills, the guy in charge, is about as decent as they come. He’ll bend over backward to help you, but he expects you to put in some effort too. Not the kind of guy who’ll just hand you the world, but the kind who’ll make sure you leave with what you need if you’re willing to work for it. Heart of gold, that one. ---

I called ahead the day before to check if they had the two cars I was after. The guy on the phone said, "Yeah, they’re here." Got there, and the first thing they told me was, "It’s out there somewhere." So I spent the next 40 minutes walking around, squinting at every rusted-out hunk of metal, and never found a single one. Nobody offered to point me in the right direction, nobody asked if I needed help—just me, my bad knee, and a whole lot of wasted time. And I’ve been to plenty of junkyards in my life, but this was the first time I felt like I was being ignored on purpose. ---

This place has been family-run for as long as I can remember—decades, probably. The prices are stupid good, the people actually give a damn, and they don’t waste your time. You walk in, they treat you like a person, not just another customer. If you’re looking for parts and don’t want to get screwed over, this is the spot. ---

Honestly, the prices here are fair, and the staff? Couldn’t ask for nicer folks. No attitude, no runaround—just straight-up helpful people who don’t make you feel like you’re bothering them. That’s rare in this business. ---

I drove a long way to this place, only to wait over 20 minutes before they told me they didn’t have what I needed.

Every time I need a part, Greg’s the one who helps me out personally. No sending me to some kid in the back—he’s hands-on, knows his stuff, and won’t lowball you on prices. If you’re looking for someone who actually cares whether you leave happy or not, he’s your guy.
