Vehicle Types and Inventory

Black Lane Auto Parts processes a diverse range of vehicles, giving customers access to parts for numerous makes and models. Their inventory includes:

  • Domestic vehicles: Ford, Chevrolet, Cadillac
  • Import vehicles: Honda, Toyota, Acura
  • Trucks and SUVs: Jeep, Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Traverse
  • Antique vehicles: Various older models

With 800–1,000 vehicles processed annually, their constantly rotating stock ensures a fresh supply of parts, including many from newer and late-model vehicles. This high turnover rate means you’re more likely to find the parts you need for recent models compared to smaller salvage yards.

Looking for a specific part? They have everything from engines and transmissions to body panels, electrical parts, and interior components. Their focus on OEM used parts ensures compatibility with your vehicle’s original specifications.

If you’re searching for affordable options for your Ford, Chevrolet, Honda, or other popular makes, Black Lane Auto Parts should be your first stop. They stock parts for most common vehicles on American roads, making them a valuable resource for budget-conscious car owners.

Popular Auto Parts

At Black Lane Auto Parts, certain used parts consistently remain in high demand due to their cost-effectiveness compared to new replacements. Here are the most commonly purchased items:

Engines and Transmissions

The most valuable and sought-after parts at any salvage yard. A used engine or transmission from Black Lane can save you thousands compared to new or remanufactured options, making these big-ticket items their bestsellers.

Body Panels and Bumpers

After a collision, used car owners often seek affordable body parts. Doors, hoods, fenders, and bumpers are popular items, especially for older vehicles where new parts might be unavailable or prohibitively expensive. If you need a used car fender, they likely have one for your vehicle.

Wheels and Tires

Quality used wheels and tires with adequate tread remaining offer significant savings. Black Lane typically stocks a variety of sizes and styles to fit most vehicles, giving customers affordable options for replacements or upgrades.

Electrical Parts

Alternators, starters, ECMs, and other electrical parts are frequently purchased due to their high replacement cost when bought new. These parts often retain plenty of life when properly tested.

Suspension Parts

Control arms, struts, and other suspension components are regularly sold at Black Lane, providing substantial savings compared to new parts.

Interior Parts

From seats and dashboards to door panels and trim pieces, interior parts are popular for restoring vehicle interiors without breaking the bank.

Fuel System Parts

Used fuel pumps and other fuel system parts provide reliable performance at a fraction of new part costs.

The yard’s extensive inventory means you can find parts for most domestic and imported vehicles, often at 50–70% off retail prices compared to new auto parts. Their experienced staff can help you identify exactly what you need, ensuring compatibility with your vehicle.

Warranty Information

Black Lane Auto Parts stands behind the parts they sell with warranty options that provide peace of mind for customers:

  • Standard Warranty: Included with most parts, though specific durations aren’t detailed in available resources
  • Extended Warranty: Available for additional coverage, with terms discussed at purchase

Their return policy stipulates that parts must be returned in “unaltered, re-sellable condition” with original packaging within 30 days of purchase. Returns after 30 days incur a 20% restocking fee, and no returns are accepted after 45 days.

While the exact warranty terms aren’t published online, the company emphasizes quality assurance through testing and inspection before sale. This focus on quality used auto parts means customers can purchase with confidence.

For specific warranty details, including costs and coverage periods, contacting Black Lane Auto Parts directly at (618) 398–5477 is recommended.

Cash for Junk Cars

Need to get rid of an old vehicle? Black Lane Auto Parts buys junk cars from the public and offers cash on the spot for junk cars. According to their website, they accept “old, worn-out vehicles” and require only the vehicle and a valid title in the owner’s name to complete the transaction.

The business emphasizes paying “top dollar” for vehicles, making them a competitive option for those looking to sell a junk car in the Caseyville area. While they don’t explicitly state “any vehicle in any condition,” their focus on recycling suggests they accept cars in various states of disrepair.

If you’re wondering whether it’s time to get cash for your junk car instead of letting it rust away, Black Lane offers a straightforward process:
1. Bring your vehicle to their location
2. Present the title in your name
3. Receive cash payment on the spot

This service complements their parts business while providing a valuable option for local residents looking to dispose of unwanted vehicles.

Tools and Equipment Needed

When visiting Black Lane Auto Parts, having the right tools can make finding and removing parts much easier. Since they operate as a full-service yard, they handle most part removal themselves. However, if you need to check fitment or perform other tasks, these tools might come in handy:

Tool Category Recommended Tools Usage
Basic Hand Tools Wrenches, socket sets, screwdrivers, pry bars Basic fastener removal and installation
Specialty Tools Steering wheel puller, gear wrench For specific parts like steering or suspension
Power Tools Impact wrench, air tools For stubborn or numerous fasteners
Safety Equipment Gloves, eye protection, jack stands Personal protection during inspection

For those who want to check if parts will fit their vehicle or make minor adjustments, basic tools like wrenches, sockets, and screwdrivers can be helpful. Since Black Lane is a full-service operation rather than a u-pull-it yard, you won’t need extensive tool kits for removing parts from vehicles.

For cost-effective options, consider affordable tools from retailers like Autozone, Walmart, or Big Lots. Always verify what tools might be needed for your specific situation by calling ahead.

Hours of Operation

Black Lane Auto Parts maintains consistent hours throughout the week:
Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday–Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The yard is open seven days a week, making it convenient for both weekday and weekend shoppers. The slightly later opening time on weekends (9 AM rather than 8 AM) is worth noting if you’re planning an early visit.

For questions or to check part availability, call (618) 398–5477 during business hours or visit their website at blacklaneauto.com.

Entry Fee and Pricing

Based on available information, Black Lane Auto Parts, Inc. does not charge a cover fee for entry. As a full-service salvage yard, their business model focuses on selling parts rather than charging admission fees common at some self-service junkyards.

While specific part prices aren’t published online, the business emphasizes affordable pricing for their used OEM parts. They also offer competitive rates for vehicle recycling, paying “top dollar” for junk cars.

For current pricing on specific parts, contact the business directly at (618) 398–5477 or visit their location. Prices likely vary based on part type, vehicle make/model, and condition.

Interchange System

Black Lane Auto Parts uses a sophisticated parts interchange system to help customers find compatible parts even when the exact model or year isn’t available in their inventory. According to customer reviews, they utilize the Hollander Interchange system, an industry-standard tool for identifying interchangeable parts across different vehicle makes and models.

This system allows the yard’s staff to:

  1. Cross-reference parts between different years, makes, and models
  2. Identify compatible alternatives when exact matches aren’t in stock
  3. Expand options for customers seeking hard-to-find parts

For example, if you need a door handle for a 2015 Ford Focus but they don’t have that specific vehicle, the interchange system might show that the same part fits models from 2012–2018, substantially increasing your chances of finding a compatible match.

With their extensive inventory of 800–1,000 vehicles processed annually, this interchange capability significantly enhances the likelihood of finding the right part for your vehicle, even if the exact model isn’t currently in their yard.

Was told I was buying a fully functioning steering column with airbag and extra buttons than the wheel I currently own. Made three separate trips up to pay for and pick up the item, only to be told it wasn’t functional as they promised upon pulling it from the car, but they had an exact same column I could buy. Fast forward to the next day, I get the “new” column. Same as the one I have. No airbag. Not functional. Missing the clock spring and connectors were ripped out of it, leaving it worthless. So why was I charged almost $200? Very unprofessional and trying to recant promises to cover their rears. I’ll go to 111 or pick and pull before ever returning here again.

Make sure you comparison shop before you go. Friend of mine found out after the fact that he paid a lot more for used parts from here than he could have paid for brand new. Rotor and hub bearing from here was almost 80 dollars. Then he found out that brand new for the same parts it would have only been 63 dollars. When they were asked about this was told they will charge whatever they want. Said they didn't care they were charging more for junk yard parts than it would be to get new.
