Services & What to Expect

Bourbon Auto Salvage is a self-service u-pull-it yard, meaning you handle finding and removing parts on your own. The yard provides tools for disassembly and a parts interchange system to help you locate the right vehicle. Many salvage yards in this model offer a limited warranty on used parts, but Bourbon Auto Salvage doesn’t specify this in its listings.

Bring your own tools or rent them on-site, along with safety gear like gloves and goggles.

How Self-Service Works

  • Use the parts interchange system to find a vehicle with the part you need.
  • Remove the part using provided tools.
  • Pay based on the yard’s pricing—some parts are weighed, while others have set prices.
  • Clean up by returning tools and disposing of debris properly.

What to Bring

  • Your own tools for disassembly (or check if rentals are available)
  • Safety gear, such as gloves and goggles
  • Vehicle documentation if needed for identification
  • A payment method (cash, card, or check, depending on what the yard accepts)

Vehicle Types Available

The yard stocks a variety of vehicles, including:

  • Domestic and foreign cars
  • Light-duty and some heavy-duty trucks
  • SUVs and crossovers
  • Vans and minivans
  • Specialty or older model vehicles
Inventory changes often as new vehicles are added.

Selling a Junk Car

If you have an old car you no longer need, selling it for cash is often easier than trading it in or trying to sell it privately. Many local buyers, like junk car buyers in Lexington , pay for vehicles in any condition.

Ordered a part online from this place, paid for it, and then they hit me with a bill for extra stuff I never asked for. When I called to complain, they refused to refund my money or send the part I actually paid for. Now I’m dealing with the attorney general’s office in Kentucky to try and get my cash back. Don’t waste your time or money here—they’ll take your payment and leave you hanging. ---

I’ve been coming here for years, and a buddy recommended it after he sold a parts car to them. Wayne showed up and hauled it out of my tight driveway without any hassle. There’s also a guy named Alexander who works there—he knows where every single car is parked like it’s his own backyard. If you’re looking for pull parts yourself, this is a solid spot. Prices are fair, and they don’t crush older cars like a lot of other places do. ---

Called to see if they had a part for a 2.4L Eco motor, but the guy on the phone didn’t even let me finish talking. As soon as I mentioned the Eco, he cut me off and said, “Can’t help you.” No effort to check, no interest in helping—just a brush-off. Most salvage yards at least pretend to care about your business. This one? Not even that.

Had a smooth experience with these guys. Called Wayne, and he said he’d pick up my car the next day at 11 a.m. The day of, he called before heading over, showed up right on time, and backed the tow truck out without scratching the driveway or grass—unlike the last company, who left marks everywhere. They gave me $100 for the car, which was what I expected, and didn’t even charge for the tow. Fast, careful, and fair—can’t ask for much more. ---

This is my go-to salvage yard. The prices are always reasonable, and the staff is friendly and local—no corporate nonsense. Whether I need a part or just want to browse, I keep coming back. ---
