Bradford explicitly states “No tools required, we’ll pull the parts for you,” which means customers don’t need to bring tools or equipment. Their professional staff handles the entire part extraction process, making it convenient for those who lack specialized tools or mechanical experience.

General Tool Guidance for Self-Service Yards

While Bradford provides tool-free service, those visiting self-service salvage yards elsewhere typically need these tools:

Basic Tools:
– Socket set and ratchet wrenches (metric/standard sizes)
– Flathead/Phillips screwdrivers (multiple sizes)
– Pry bar for stuck parts
– Penetrating oil (e.g., WD–40) for rusted bolts

Part-Specific Tools:
Engine/Transmission: Torque wrench, socket set, jack stands
Electrical Parts: Wire cutters, screwdrivers, flashlight
Exterior Parts: Pry bar, hammer, utility knife
Suspension/Exhaust: Jack, jack stands, cutting tools

Bradford’s service-oriented approach eliminates the need for customers to own or bring these tools, making it more accessible for the average car owner.

Cash for Junk Cars

Bradford Auto Parts & Salvage operates as a salvage yard, which typically involves purchasing junk vehicles for parts recycling or resale. While available search results don’t explicitly confirm their current practices for buying junk cars from the public, their business model suggests they likely follow industry standards:

  1. Vehicle Acquisition: As a salvage yard, they likely purchase junk vehicles in various conditions to dismantle and sell usable parts.
  2. Contact Information: Their listing provides direct contact details (904–966–0774), suggesting they engage with customers for parts inquiries and potential vehicle purchases.
  3. Salvage Operations: Their established presence in the industry indicates they follow common operational practices like buying vehicles for parts.

Scammed when selling a junk vehicle. The man at the counter told me he would give me X amount of $ for it but he would have to take the vehicle and weigh it first, then he'd pay me.

Problem was it was easy to see the vehicle was all there, and anyone could find out the weight just by looking up the specs on, or Googling the vehicle. Meaning he knew exactly what top weight, and price on the vehicle was before he even hauled it off. Of course he supposedly weighs it without you there to watch him, and mysteriously enough, the vehicle lost substantial weight, and I was given much less than originally quoted for it.

It sounded like a scam from the start, and turned out, it clearly was. Google the weight of your vehicle first, then, before you do anything else ask what the price per pound is, and if there are any hidden charges, then, as long as the car is all there, you will know exactly what you should get before they even come get the car. If its not all there, I strongly recommend you watch as they weigh it.

Since its easy enough to know what you should get for the vehicle, you may also want to get on the phone, and shop around for the best price you can get at salvage yards from, say, a 30 to 50 mile radius or even further.
