I haven't used as yet but starting to get recyle like aluminum tabs will have my daughter take them for me
They only had 2 people working, so there were no empty carts available, & a line that was 16 people deep. I felt sorry for the one guy working the scales. He was in charge of, & responsible for at least 3 peoples jobs, so I patiently waited for him to catch up. I tried helping him, but I was quickly reprimanded on how their insurance company doesn't cover me, if something was to happen. I was entertained, & educated, by a couple of encounters I got to witness, while I waited. One women, who obviously hadn't slept in at least 3 days, & coincidentally, 3 was also the total amount of teeth she had, attempted to convince the scales guy, that she hadn't just cut the 2 catalytic converters, that she was holding, off random cars, on her way there. She had a somewhat convincing, & believable story, but was completely dumbfounded, & speechless, when he asked her if he could see the 2 car titles, that the converters came off of. She mumbled, & cussed him, the place, & his mother, as she made the long walk, back to her bicycle. “Everyday”, is all that Mr. Scales said about the encounter. I'm surely almost out of room, but I do need to say this. I learned that River Recycling owns 3 out of the 4 biggest recycling centers in the area. This includes 2 in Louisville, & 1 in New Albany, & they all have different names. They definitely control the market, & speaking of market….. They were only willing to pay what they felt was a “fair comparison”, to market price. In this case, it was 0.23¢ less a pound then current state, & national posted market prices. If you're into recycling, then you know that even though it doesn't sound like much, but at 500lbs, that's $115! It adds up quick! I guess, if you need the money, you need the money though. Unfortunately, they know that, & are fine with taking full advantage of it!
They are a lil slow but it's a scrap yard. They pay lower prices. An wouldn't take a air compressor tank until we cut a hole in it. We had to unload by ourselves with no one out there cause at 1120 am they were all on a lunch break
Friendly staff, immediately after arriving was assisted, instructions at “ATM” not clear and display was very dim and hard to read – yet staff quickly came out to clarfy entry to receive cash.
Top price paid for cans if you don't show up after 4:30 with dirty scrap. If you do they will just make you load your scrap back up and refuse to take it.. The app says 5 p.m. but if certain staff are working4:30. The staff there today exhibited some very atrocious behavior. I will not be returning to do any more business with this company. The staff was beyond lazy and rude to the point of extreme. For good service go to Red Ball Recycling.
