Hadden Wrecking: Swainsboro, GA’s Premier Used Auto Parts Salvage Yard

Establishment and Ownership

Hadden Wrecking Co., strategically located at 1523 US–80 in Swainsboro, GA, has been a cornerstone of Emanuel County’s automotive service industry for over 25 years. This well-established salvage yard appears in historical records dating back to a 1955 Georgia manufacturers directory, suggesting deep roots in the community, though the current operational history is most clearly documented from the late 1990s forward.

The business is currently owned by Charles Hadden, who has maintained the company’s reputation as a reliable source for used auto parts and automotive services in eastern Georgia. Under his leadership, Hadden Wrecking continues to serve Swainsboro and surrounding communities with dedicated automotive expertise.

Through the decades, the business has maintained its presence on US Highway 80, though address records show slight variations (1518 vs. 1523), likely reflecting address standardization changes over time rather than physical relocation. This longevity demonstrates Hadden Wrecking’s commitment to the Swainsboro community and their established role in the local salvage yards in Georgiaecosystem.

Salvage Yard Operations

Their team handles part identification, removal, and preparation, making the shopping experience more convenient for customers who may lack tools or technical expertise.

Their presence on the Hollander Parts network suggests they maintain a searchable inventory and can ship parts nationwide, broadening their reach beyond the immediate Swainsboro area. This service model appeals to both local walk-in customers and distant buyers seeking specific quality used auto parts.

While some sources describe Hadden Wrecking as a demolition/excavation company, their core business clearly focuses on automotive services, with any construction-related work likely representing a secondary service line rather than their primary operation.

Vehicle Types

The available information doesn’t provide a specific inventory list for Hadden Wrecking, but as a reputable used auto parts dealer in the southeast Georgia region, they likely maintain a diverse selection of vehicles reflecting the area’s popular makes and models.

Most salvage yards in rural Georgia typically stock:

  • Domestic trucks and SUVs: Ford F-Series, Chevrolet Silverado/Sierra, RAM trucks
  • Popular sedans: Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Ford Fusion
  • Domestic classics: Older model Chevrolet, Ford, and Dodge vehicles
  • Common SUVs: Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Tahoe, Toyota RAV4
  • Work vehicles: Commercial vans and light-duty trucks

For the most accurate and current inventory information, customers should contact Hadden Wrecking directly at (478) 289–6080. Their inventory likely fluctuates regularly as vehicles are acquired and parts are sold, making direct inquiry the most reliable method for determining availability of specific makes and models.

Customers seeking specific parts may want to call ahead to verify availability, especially for less common vehicles or specialized parts. This approach saves time and ensures the yard has what you need before making the trip to their Swainsboro location.

Popular Auto Parts

Hadden Wrecking, like most quality salvage yards, specializes in providing reliable used auto parts that offer significant savings compared to new OEM or aftermarket alternatives. Their most sought-after parts typically include major mechanical and body components that are expensive when purchased new but remain reliable when sourced from salvage vehicles.

Core Mechanical Parts

The most valuable and frequently purchased parts from Hadden Wrecking include:

  • Engines: Complete motors and engine assemblies represent the highest-value salvage items, often saving customers thousands compared to new replacements or rebuilds. These are particularly valuable for older vehicles where new engines may no longer be manufactured.
  • Transmissions: Both automatic and manual transmissions are premium salvage items. A used transmission from Hadden Wrecking can save hundreds or even thousands on repair costs while providing a direct OEM replacement.
  • Alternators and starters: These electrical components are often easily removed and installed, making them popular purchases for DIY repairs. When a vehicle won’t start, these components are common culprits, and used ones offer significant savings.

Body and Exterior Parts

Find a used car hood for sale and other exterior parts at salvage yards like Hadden Wrecking to save substantially on collision repairs:

  • Doors, hoods, and tailgates: Body panels are frequently damaged in accidents and extremely expensive when purchased new. Salvage yards provide these parts in matching colors, often eliminating the need for painting.
  • Bumpers, fenders, and mirrors: These commonly damaged parts are easily replaced with used ones, saving on both parts and labor costs.
  • Headlights and tail lights: Modern headlight assemblies can cost hundreds of dollars new, making used options particularly attractive. How to find used car headlights at junkyards can help you navigate this process effectively.
  • Wheels and tires: Many customers visit salvage yards looking for matching replacement wheels or affordable used tire options. Find the best deals on used tires and wheels at facilities like Hadden Wrecking.

Unlike parts that wear out quickly or are critical safety items (such as brake pads, belts, or airbag components), these salvaged parts typically retain their functionality and reliability while offering substantial cost savings. This makes Hadden Wrecking a valuable resource for budget-conscious car owners throughout the Swainsboro area.

Most Recent Auto Parts Prices

Hadden Wrecking at 1523 US–80 in Swainsboro, GA, does not publicly list auto part prices or a price list online. The business focuses on providing personalized service, with pricing likely varying based on make, model, condition, and market demand.

For specific pricing inquiries, customers should contact Hadden Wrecking directly:
Phone: 478–289–6080
Address: 1523 US–80, Swainsboro, GA 30401

Unlike some larger chain salvage yards that publish standardized price lists, smaller independent yards like Hadden Wrecking typically assess each part individually based on condition, availability, and current market value. This personalized pricing approach allows them to account for factors such as:

  1. Vehicle rarity: Parts from uncommon vehicles may command higher prices
  2. Part condition: Better-preserved parts typically cost more
  3. Seasonal demand: Certain parts (like AC components) may fluctuate in price seasonally
  4. Market availability: Hard-to-find parts often carry premium pricing

When calling about a specific part, be prepared to provide your vehicle’s make, model, year, and engine size to ensure accurate pricing information. Many yards also offer delivery options for an additional fee, which can be discussed during your price inquiry.

Interchange System

Hadden Wrecking utilizes the industry-standard Hollander Parts Interchange system to help customers locate compatible parts across different vehicle makes and models. This sophisticated cross-reference tool is a cornerstone of modern automotive salvage operations, enabling the yard to maximize the utility of their inventory.

How the Interchange System Works

The Hollander system works by identifying parts that are functionally identical despite coming from different vehicle models. For example, certain Ford and Mercury models might use identical alternators, or a Chevrolet transmission might fit multiple GM vehicles across different years. This system allows Hadden Wrecking to:

  1. Expand options for customers when the exact vehicle match isn’t available
  2. Identify compatible parts across different manufacturers
  3. Provide alternatives when original parts are discontinued or rare
  4. Match OEM specifications while offering more choices

When a customer needs a specific part, Hadden Wrecking’s staff can consult the Hollander database to identify all compatible options in their inventory. This significantly increases the likelihood of finding a suitable part, especially for older or less common vehicles.

Customer Benefits

This interchange capability offers several advantages to Hadden Wrecking’s customers:

  • Wider selection: Access to parts from multiple vehicle models increases availability
  • Cost savings: Sometimes similar parts from different models have different market values
  • Faster service: Multiple options mean less waiting for specific inventory
  • Solutions for rare vehicles: When exact matches are unavailable, compatible alternatives can be lifesavers

While the interchange system provides valuable guidance, Hadden Wrecking likely advises customers that final fitment verification is recommended, as manufacturers occasionally make undocumented changes within production runs.

To utilize this service, customers should provide detailed vehicle information when inquiring about parts, including make, model, year, engine size, and any relevant trim or feature packages that might affect part compatibility.

Warranty Information

Based on the available information, Hadden Wrecking does not publicly list specific warranty details for their used auto parts. This is common among smaller independent salvage yards, which often handle warranty matters on a case-by-case basis rather than publishing standardized policies.

For the most accurate and current warranty information, customers should contact Hadden Wrecking directly at:
Phone: 478–289–6080 or 478–237–6580
Address: 1523 US–80, Swainsboro, GA 30401

Typical Salvage Yard Warranties

While Hadden Wrecking’s specific policies aren’t publicly documented, most reputable salvage yards in Georgia typically offer:

  1. 30–90 day limited warranties on major mechanical parts like engines and transmissions
  2. Testing guarantees that ensure parts are functional at the time of sale
  3. Exchange-only policies rather than refunds
  4. No warranty coverage for installation errors or parts modified after purchase
  5. Different coverage periods based on part type (longer for engines, shorter for electrical parts)

Warranty Considerations

When purchasing used auto parts from any salvage yard, including Hadden Wrecking, customers should:

  • Get warranty terms in writing at the time of purchase
  • Understand testing/verification that was performed on the part
  • Ask about extended warranty options if available
  • Clarify the procedure for making a warranty claim
  • Keep all receipts and documentation

Since warranties represent an important aspect of the purchase decision, particularly for major components like engines and transmissions that represent significant investments, direct inquiry remains the best approach for understanding Hadden Wrecking’s specific coverage terms and conditions.

Entry Fee

Based on the available information, there is no explicit mention of an entry fee for Hadden Wrecking at 1523 US–80 in Swainsboro, GA. However, this doesn’t definitively confirm whether a fee exists or not.

For the most accurate information regarding any potential entry fees or discounts, customers should contact Hadden Wrecking directly:
Phone: 478–237–6580 or 478–289–6080
Address: 1523 US–80, Swainsboro, GA 30401

Context for Potential Fees

Hadden Wrecking’s business model as both a towing company and used auto parts seller suggests they may operate differently from typical self-service salvage yards that commonly charge entry fees. Their listing on parts platforms like Hollanderparts indicates they might function more as a full-service yard where staff retrieves parts for customers rather than allowing self-service access.

Payment options at Hadden Wrecking include MasterCard and Visa, which would apply to any potential entry fees as well as parts purchases.

Industry Context

For context, many self-service auto salvage yards typically charge:
$1–3 entry fee for basic access
$5–10 entry fee for facilities with larger inventories
Discounted or waived fees for seniors, military, or return visits
Membership programs that offer reduced fees for regular customers

Since Hadden Wrecking appears to focus on full-service operations rather than self-service, traditional entry fees might not apply, but calling ahead remains the best approach to confirm their current policies.

Hours of Operation

Hadden Wrecking Co. at 1523 US–80 in Swainsboro, GA, operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM and is closed on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). These business hours are typical for many small-town salvage yards and automotive service providers in rural Georgia.

For the most up-to-date schedule information, customers should contact the business directly using one of the following phone numbers:
478–237–6580
478–289–6080

The presence of two different contact numbers in various business listings suggests confirming both current hours and the best contact method when planning your visit. Hours may be subject to change during holidays or special circumstances, making a quick phone call a worthwhile precaution before making a long drive.

Tools and Equipment for Pulling Auto Parts

When visiting Hadden Wrecking or similar salvage yards in Swainsboro, being properly equipped is essential for efficiently removing parts. Unlike fully self-service yards where customers do all the work, Hadden Wrecking’s operation as a full-service facility means their staff likely handles most removals, but understanding the tools involved remains valuable knowledge for any salvage yard visitor.

Essential Tools for Salvage Yard Success

Tool Category Recommended Items Used For
Socket Sets SAE and metric, ¼“, ⅜”, and ½” drive sizes Most bolt removal applications
Wrenches Ratcheting and adjustable wrenches Tight spots where sockets won’t fit
Pliers Needle-nose, locking, and channel locks Cotter pins, clips, hoses, wires
Cutting Tools Hacksaw, diagonal cutters, reciprocating saw Cutting hoses, wires, rusted bolts
Impact Tools Electric impact gun or breaker bar Removing stubborn or rusted fasteners
Safety Gear Gloves, safety glasses, penlight Personal protection and visibility

Part-Specific Tool Considerations

Different automotive parts require specialized tools for proper removal:

  • Engine/Transmission Removal: Bring a torque wrench and possibly a starter button for testing functionality before purchase. A leak-down tester can verify engine condition.
  • Interior/Electronics: Torx drivers and various screwdriver bits are essential, as many interior panels and electrical parts use specialized fasteners.
  • Suspension and Steering: Ball joint separators and pullers are crucial for these parts. If you know in advance you’ll be pulling suspension parts, specialized pullers can save hours of frustration.
  • Fuel System Parts: Extra cutting tools for fuel lines and container for capturing residual fuel are important safety considerations.

At most salvage facilities, including operations like Hadden Wrecking, customers are expected to bring their own tools if they’ll be handling any removal themselves. The yard typically provides access to the vehicles but not the equipment needed to dismantle them. For a full-service yard, staff may handle most removals, but having basic tools on hand is still advisable for minor adjustments or inspection.

For the most productive visit, calling ahead to confirm Hadden Wrecking’s specific policies regarding tool requirements and whether they offer any tool rentals or assistance with part removal is highly recommended. If you’re planning to salvage used car radiator parts or other specific components, understanding the correct tools beforehand will save significant time and frustration.

Cash for Junk Cars

Based on the available information, Hadden Wrecking Co in Swainsboro, GA, focuses primarily on used auto parts sales and automotive maintenance services rather than actively advertising junk car purchasing as a core service. Their business listings emphasize their role as a salvage yard selling parts rather than explicitly promoting cash-for-cars services.

Business Overview

Hadden Wrecking operates as a multi-service automotive facility that includes:
Used auto parts sales through platforms like Hollanderparts.com
Automotive maintenance services for local customers
Towing services for the Swainsboro area

While many salvage yards do purchase end-of-life vehicles to maintain their parts inventory, Hadden Wrecking doesn’t prominently advertise this service in their business listings, suggesting it may not be their primary focus or that they may have specific requirements for vehicles they accept.

Local Alternatives

For those specifically looking to sell junk cars in the Swainsboro area, services like USJunkCars.com explicitly advertise:
Cash payments (advertising $500+ for qualifying vehicles)
Free towing for vehicles they purchase
– Acceptance of vehicles without titles (under applicable state regulations)

Recommendation for Sellers

If you’re looking to sell a junk car in Swainsboro, consider:

  1. Contacting Hadden Wrecking directly at (478) 289–6080 to inquire about their current vehicle purchasing policies
  2. Comparing offers from Hadden Wrecking and dedicated junk car buyers
  3. Asking about towing if your vehicle isn’t drivable
  4. Confirming documentation requirements such as title and registration

While Hadden Wrecking may purchase vehicles to supplement their inventory, their business model appears more focused on parts sales and automotive services than on being a high-volume junk car buyer. If you’re interested in getting cash for your junk car, exploring multiple options in the Swainsboro area will help ensure you receive competitive compensation.

Worst experience ever! I would never buy anything from these people. I needed an AC compressor for my jeep liberty. I paid $100 and the compressor didn't even work! When I bought it the lady that's at the front desk told me that I will get a 30 day warranty. I took it back and they told me they couldn't give me my money back that they had to replace it for another one but at the moment they didn't have another one. I needed my money back to go somewhere else and find a compressor for my car which happens to be my only vehicle and I needed it fixed ASAP! They refused to give me my money back and told me that I'd need to talk to the owner and see if we could solve this issue. I called this place for a week, and the owner was either busy or not there. They provided me with his cellphone number but I never got him to answer me. I went back and forth calling for a whole week! When I finally called one day, he happened to be there. I explained to him that I had already bought a new AC compressor because I really needed my vehicle fixed so that I needed to get my money back. He completely refused o and said that they're policy doesn't not allows him to give customers their money back. The problem here is that when I first bought it, they never mentioned to me that I would not get my money back if something happened to go wrong. If they would've told me that, I would've never have bought that compressor! After all, he hung up the phone on me and now they won't even answer my calls! This is the first time I buy something from a junk yard and this is for sure the last time, especially from these people.
