1. What services does Steve’s Auto Salvage offer?

Steve’s Auto Salvage specializes in selling used auto parts and purchasing junk or used vehicles . They focus on providing affordable automotive parts and offer competitive pricing for vehicles they acquire. Similar salvage yards often combine salvage operations with recycling efforts, prioritizing parts reuse and metal scrapping.

2. Do I need to prove ownership to sell my vehicle?

Yes, most junkyards, including Steve’s Auto Salvage, require proof of ownership before purchasing a vehicle. Acceptable documents include a title of ownership , auction sales receipt , mechanic’s lien , storage lot lien , or repossession affidavit . This ensures legal compliance and prevents fraud.

3. Will they buy a car with a salvage title?

Policies vary, but many junkyards avoid purchasing vehicles with salvage titles due to ethical concerns about reselling previously totaled cars. However, some may still buy salvage-titled vehicles if they can harvest functional parts. Contacting Steve’s directly is recommended to confirm their policy.

4. Do they provide free towing services?

Yes, many junkyards, including Steve’s Auto Salvage, offer free towing to incentivize sellers and ensure they retain the full sale amount without additional costs. This service is typically included when the vehicle is sold to the junkyard.

5. Is price haggling common when selling a junk car?

No, price haggling is uncommon in junkyard transactions. Junkyards typically offer fixed quotes based on factors like vehicle make, model, age, and condition, with little room for negotiation due to the low value of most junk cars.

6. Can I donate my vehicle instead of selling it?

Some junkyards accept vehicle donations for tax-deductible purposes, though immediate cash payment is not provided. Donating may allow tax benefits, depending on the junkyard’s partnership with charitable organizations. Contact Steve’s to inquire about donation options.

7. What are their operating hours?

Steve’s Auto Salvage operates Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM . Hours may vary slightly by location, so confirming directly is advised. Most junkyards maintain similar weekday schedules, with limited weekend availability.

This place is a lifesaver when you need parts. The guy running it is solid—knows his stuff and doesn’t mess around. If you’re looking for something specific, just ask. Saved me a ton of time and money. ---

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Steve is one of the most unpleasant, unprofessional people I’ve ever dealt with. No reason to be that way—just rude for the sake of it. And don’t even get me started on how shady he is. He’ll take your money and leave you wondering if you got ripped off. Avoid at all costs. ---

Called at 9 AM to get my car towed, and the guy just brushed me off. Said someone would call back later that day, but when I asked *when*, he didn’t even know. Spent the whole day calling back, only to get told it’d be before 5 PM. Called again at 4 PM to check, and he just hung up on me. Tried calling back five more times—nothing. Absolute waste of time. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. ---

This guy actually helps you instead of just taking your money. Prices aren’t the cheapest, but compared to J.D. Smith’s? Night and day. J.D. closes early, doesn’t answer calls, and acts like you’re bothering him. But this place? He stayed late just to pull a part for me, even after hours. Made the whole process easy. If you need parts and want someone who cares, go here.

Drove two hours to buy a motor, and this guy completely wasted my time. We’d talked the day before, and he knew I was coming Monday morning. Texted him at 8:45 AM on my way, and he didn’t even reply until 9:15 AM to say he wouldn’t be in until 1 PM. Got there at 12:45, and he was there—but no motor. Told me to wait until 2 PM, then texted at 1:50 to say it sold Saturday. My husband missed a whole day of work, I burned gas, and for what? A guy who can’t keep his word. Stay far away from this place. ---
