Services & What to Expect

A & B Auto Salvage is a self-service auto salvage yard. Customers browse the inventory of salvaged vehicles to find parts for their own repairs. The yard follows the "u-pull-it" model—you locate the parts you need, remove them, and pay by the pound. This setup gives you direct access to a wide range of used auto parts at lower costs than new ones.

What You Can Find

The inventory includes parts from many types of vehicles, such as engines, transmissions, body panels, interior components, and mechanical parts. Some of the most common items customers look for are:

  • Engines and transmissions
  • Body panels (doors, fenders, hoods)
  • Bumpers and grilles
  • Headlights and taillights
  • Seats and interior trim
  • Suspension and brake components
  • Exhaust systems

How Self-Service Works

During operating hours, you enter the yard and search for the parts you need. Tools are usually available for rent or purchase on-site. Once you’ve found and removed the parts, you pay based on their weight. The yard doesn’t offer part removal services, so you’ll need to handle the disassembly yourself. Safety gear like gloves and goggles is often provided or available for purchase.

What to Bring

To make the process easier, bring:

  • A vehicle to transport parts (some may be too large or heavy for a standard car)
  • Basic tools (unless you plan to rent them from the yard)
  • Safety gear (gloves, goggles, steel-toe boots)
  • A list of the parts you need, including the make, model, and year of your vehicle
  • Cash or a debit/credit card for payment (call ahead to confirm if they accept cards)

Safety & Rules

The yard follows standard safety protocols for auto salvage operations, including proper signage and secure fencing. Customers are expected to follow basic safety practices, such as wearing protective gear and avoiding loose clothing or jewelry. The yard may also have rules about tools, lighting, and how many people can be in the salvage area at once.

Honestly, I’d give zero stars if the site let me, but I had to pick one. The whole vibe there is just *off*—like walking into a room where everyone stops talking when you enter. I came in, said good morning to the group, and got nothing back. Not even a grunt. My husband walked in right after me, said hello, and *then* one woman finally spoke up. I tried to break the ice by mentioning how nice their pre-pulled parts display was, but the silence was so thick you could cut it with a knife. They acted like we were wasting their time just by being there. The only reason I even bought the part I needed was because no one else had it. But mark my words—I’ll never set foot in that place again. ---

These guys are solid. We were hunting for some random part—like, the letter “X” kind of random—and they didn’t make us feel stupid for not knowing exactly what we needed. Helped us figure it out, no hassle. If I ever need parts again, I’m coming back here. ---

Dude made me move my own truck because he didn’t want to scratch his. Last week, I parked right next to his rig with no issues, but this time? Suddenly it’s a problem. Called them back, and they sent someone the next day to handle it. Still annoying, but at least they fixed it. ---

My customer bought a gas tank here, and it’s got a hole in it—like, literally punctured. When he brought it back, they just shrugged and said, “Not our problem.” No replacement, no refund, nothing. It’s a bummer to see a business act like that. Had to leave this review to warn others, even though I hate doing it.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews, especially as a business owner myself, but this one was a total mess. Bought a hood for my 2006 Silverado 2500HD from A&B, and it was listed in their system as the right year and model. Picked it up, took it straight to the painter, dropped another $700 on getting it prepped and painted—only to realize when we tried to install it that it was actually for a 2002. The grill opening and hinge points don’t match at all. Called the owner to sort it out, and he straight-up told me I was wrong and their system was right. No apology, no offer to fix it, not even a partial refund. Now I’m stuck with a $1,000 hood I can’t use, and I’ve got to unload it for whatever I can get. Beyond disappointed—and not just with the hood, but with how the owner handled the whole thing. ---
