Alaska Snowmobile Salvage is a self-service salvage yard in Anchorage for snowmobiles, ATVs, and off-road vehicles. Located at 1206 East 74th Avenue, it lets customers pull their own parts from damaged or decommissioned machines. The yard operates on a u-pull-it model—you find what you need, cut it out, and pay by weight.
While snowmobiles (Ski-Doos, Yamahas, Polaris, Arctic Cat) are the focus, you’ll also find ATV/UTV parts (like Yamaha Rhinos and Honda ATVs) and occasional snowblower components. The business also runs online auctions for full vehicles, sometimes featured in their YouTube listings.
What to Expect
This is a self-service yard—you handle the part removal yourself. Basic tools are on-site, and you pay by the pound for what you take. It’s a straightforward way to get parts at a lower cost.
Parts Available
Snowmobile parts (Yamaha, Ski-Doo, Polaris, Arctic Cat)
ATV/UTV parts (Yamaha Rhino, Honda ATVs)
Snowblower and winter gear (MTD, Ariens)
Engines, tracks, skis, and suspension components
Full vehicles (listed in online auctions)
How Self-Service Works
During business hours, you enter the yard and search for parts yourself. Staff will weigh what you take and charge you by the pound. Bring your own tools (like bolt cutters or a saw) if you have them, though the yard provides some. If you’re unsure about a part, ask before cutting.

Don’t bother. Wasted my time and money here. Wouldn’t go back.

My old RMK 900 sled was a total mess—cracked plastic everywhere, barely holding together. Took it to this place, and they didn’t just slap on some cheap fixes. They replaced every broken piece, even the little stuff, and now it runs smoother than it did when it was new. Worth every penny.

Stay far away from this place. Ordered a $1,100 part for my truck, needed it shipped to Fairbanks. A week later, I called to check on it—no one knew where it was, and they promised to call back. Never did. The owner got mad when I asked for a tracking number, saying air shipments don’t have them (they do—it’s called a waybill). They quoted $50 for shipping but charged $1,300. The invoice showed a $150 “shop fee” for wrapping the part in plastic and dropping it off at Alaska Air Cargo, which actually only charged $50.40. Absolute scam. Wouldn’t trust them with a dime.

Bought a part from these guys, and it wasn’t even the right one. Took it back the next day for a refund—they couldn’t be bothered to find the correct part, then refused to give my hundred bucks back. Told me they’d call when they had it in stock, then kicked me and my nephew out, telling us to leave. Four days later, still no call, no refund. Feels like I got robbed. From now on, I’m buying from eBay Motors.

Called last Monday asking if they had a part I desperately needed. Called back three times that week—same answer every time: *"We’ve been busy, we’ll look and call you back."* Took my name and number all three times. Never heard a word. Guess they don’t need my business that bad. And now, they sure as hell won’t get it.
