Overview

Allmetal Recycling - 21st Street at 800 E 21st St N, Wichita, KS 67214

Allmetal Recycling is a Wichita auto salvage yard and scrap metal recycling center at 800 E 21st St N. They focus on self-service auto parts removal, where customers find and take parts from donated or junked vehicles. The yard also handles scrap metal, appliances, and other recyclable materials. Customers remove parts themselves after paying a small fee. While they don’t have online reviews, their website and social media show they work with DIY mechanics and professional restorers in the Wichita area.

Services & What to Expect

Allmetal Recycling is a self-service auto salvage yard. Customers enter, find the vehicle with the part they need, and remove it themselves. The yard doesn’t offer professional part removal. You’ll find common auto parts like engines, transmissions, doors, bumpers, and interior components. Pricing is usually per part, not a flat entry fee.

What to Bring

  • Tools for part removal (wrenches, sockets, pry bars)
  • Gloves and safety gear (the yard may not provide tools, so check ahead)
  • Transportation for the part (truck, trailer, or vehicle with space)
  • Payment method (cash or card, depending on their policy)

How Self-Service Works

The process is simple:

  1. Visit during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM).
  2. Find the vehicle with your part (the yard may have a map or inventory system).
  3. Pay the part removal fee at the office.
  4. Remove the part using your tools.
  5. Leave the vehicle as-is (minus the part) and exit.
Some yards require a waiver or ID before entry. Allmetal Recycling’s website doesn’t mention this, so ask when you arrive.

Scrap Metal & Other Materials

Besides auto parts, Allmetal Recycling takes scrap metal, appliances, and other recyclables. They may pay cash for accepted items, though exact pricing isn’t listed online. For large metal loads or bulky items, they offer free removal. If you’ve got old vehicles, appliances, or scrap metal taking up space, they’ll help dispose of it properly.

Need to Get Rid of a Junk Car?

If you have an old car, truck, or SUV that doesn’t run, Allmetal Recycling may take it. Many salvage yards, including this one, pay cash and tow junk cars away for free. For the best deal, check offers from multiple buyers before selling.

Skip this location—it’s a total waste of time. Just getting weighed takes 45 minutes, and unloading and re-weighing? Forget about it. You’re looking at half a day just to get out of there. ---

The office here makes selling scrap a nightmare. They drag things out instead of just getting the job done. Why make it harder than it needs to be? ---

This is the best scrap yard I’ve ever dealt with—fair prices, friendly staff, and everything’s clean and organized. The only downside? They’re stuck between two train tracks. Half the time, you’re waiting for a train to pass or stop traffic so they can park one right in the middle of the road. Still worth it, though. ---

I drove all the way to this scrap yard, only to find out their scales are completely off. My haul came up as -1 pounds—yeah, you read that right. I asked the office to fix it, and they blamed the yard. Then I went to the yard, and they blamed the office. Nobody took responsibility. If you need scrap weighed, go somewhere else. ---

I’ve been bringing my metals here for years, and I won’t go anywhere else. The people are great, the place is always clean, and it’s just a good spot to turn in scrap. Simple as that.
