Services & What to Expect
American Classic is a self-service salvage yard, meaning you handle finding and removing parts yourself. The yard has a mix of junked cars, scrap metal, and used auto parts. You’ll find common components like engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior parts, though inventory changes as new vehicles are brought in. Tools for part removal are available to rent or buy on-site.
How Self-Service Works
Browse the yard: Walk through the rows of salvaged vehicles to find the parts you need. Parts aren’t organized by make or model, so knowing basic vehicle anatomy helps.
Remove parts: Once you locate what you need, use the provided tools to take it off the vehicle. Staff can help with tool rentals or basic questions but don’t assist with part removal.
Pay for parts and tools: Bring your selected part to the payment area to settle the cost. Prices depend on the part’s condition and demand.
No appointment needed: Just show up during open hours—no advance notice is required.
What to Bring
A vehicle or trailer to haul parts, as some are heavy or bulky.
Basic tools if you plan to remove parts on-site (though tools are available for rent).
Cash or a card for payment—some yards prefer cash.
Gloves and safety gear, as the yard has sharp metal and debris.
Parts Availability
The yard carries a range of used auto parts, though stock depends on recent acquisitions. Common items include:
Electrical parts (wiring harnesses, alternators, starters).
Scrap metal for recycling or repurposing.
If you don’t see what you need, call ahead at (940) 365-9786 to check availability before visiting.
Getting Rid of a Junk Car
If you have an old car to dispose of, many salvage yards in the Dallas-Fort Worth area buy junk cars for parts or scrap. This is a quick way to remove a vehicle from your property while earning some cash. Prices vary based on the car’s condition, make, model, and scrap metal rates.
The yard is closed Sundays and follows standard hours the rest of the week. Saturday hours end at noon, so plan your visit accordingly. Hours stay the same year-round with no special extensions.

Got exactly what I needed at a fair price. No hassle, no surprises. Simple as that.

This place is a total scam. The parts they sell are cheaply made, and it’s obvious they don’t care about quality or customers. I got something that was clearly defective—probably shipped straight from Malaysia—and when I pointed it out, they just shrugged. They admitted it was wrong but wouldn’t even offer a refund or discount. Had to fix it myself. Don’t waste your money here. They’re greedy, lazy, and don’t stand behind their products.

Did they just disappear? Placed an order, then radio silence. Money got pulled from my account, but no response to emails or calls—tried two different numbers. Nothing. Started May 22, and by May 31, still no word. It’s like they vanished.

Two years later, and I’m still pissed. Back then, I ordered some parts, and they forgot to include the fasteners. When I called to complain, they actually accused *me* of stealing them—like I’d take $4 worth of parts when I was dropping $70K with them. Ridiculous. They refused to admit they messed up. Now I’m looking for more parts, and their website popped up. Still can’t believe how bad they handled it.

The phone service for ordering truck parts is actually really good. But shipping? Terrible. I live 20 miles away, and they don’t even have a storefront, so everything gets mailed. Ordered on Monday, and they promised it’d be here by Friday. Called Friday, and the order was just sitting there with a shipping label—because they got “busy.” Offered to pay extra for overnight, but they said no. If you’re not going to ship fast, at least give people options. I support small businesses, but this is frustrating.
