I saw Amerigo Metal Recycling working with Heads UP Construction, and their trucks are a mess. Drivers are told to skip the scales so DOT doesn’t catch them—those trucks aren’t even passing inspections. It’s not safe, and someone’s gonna get hurt if they keep this up. ---

The space is a little tight, but it’s not terrible. The people are easy to work with and don’t give you a hard time. The crane operator almost messed up unloading my crushed car—let a plastic bumper swing way too close to my truck. They *need* a safer spot for tarping and untarping, or someone’s gonna get hurt bad. Keep your eyes open the whole time you’re there. I’d come back if I had to, but I’d watch my step. ---

Called to ask about dropping off aluminum cans. A woman answered, I asked if I could bring them by, and she just said, *"We don’t take public scrap."* Then hung up. Not exactly rolling out the welcome mat, are they? ---

Paid me 38 cents less per pound for Romex than the other places I checked. The guy at the counter took forever, and when I asked for a copy of my receipt, he tossed the original and couldn’t print a new one. They *were* open past noon on a Saturday, which was the only good part. I should’ve gotten at least 50% more for that load.

Went there with my girlfriend to drop off some metal, and the guys were actually nice. No attitude, no trying to lowball us like at United Recycling. They even helped us unload everything. Honestly, one of the better experiences I’ve had with a place like this. ---
