Overview

Arizona Scrap Iron & Metal Co Inc - Phoenix, AZ

Arizona Scrap Iron & Metal Co Inc is a Phoenix auto salvage yard and scrap metal dealer at 433 S 7th Ave. The business sells used auto parts and scrap metal to customers looking for affordable alternatives to new parts. Unlike some self-service yards, Arizona Scrap Iron focuses on scrap metal and auto parts rather than a full u-pull-it setup. Their inventory includes engines, transmissions, suspension parts, brake components, and other mechanical and electrical parts from domestic and foreign vehicles. The yard operates on a cash-and-carry basis, so customers must bring their own tools and pay for parts on-site.

Services & What to Expect

Arizona Scrap Iron isn’t a traditional u-pull-it yard where customers remove parts themselves. Instead, it’s a scrap metal and auto parts dealer. Customers can browse the inventory, and staff will help find specific items. The yard doesn’t dismantle vehicles for customers—parts are already removed and ready for purchase. Prices depend on the part’s condition and demand.

What You Can Find

  • Engines and transmissions (domestic and foreign)
  • Suspension parts (shocks, struts, control arms)
  • Brake components (calipers, rotors, master cylinders)
  • Electrical parts (alternators, starters, wiring harnesses)
  • Scrap metal (copper, aluminum, steel, brass)
  • Other auto parts (exhaust systems, radiators, drivetrain components)

How to Visit

The yard is walk-in only. Customers should:

  • Bring cash or a debit card (credit cards may not be accepted)
  • Know the vehicle make, model, and year for parts searches
  • Bring tools if inspecting parts on-site (removal isn’t allowed)
  • Check inventory before visiting, as stock changes often
The business doesn’t buy junk cars or offer cash-for-cars services. For selling an old vehicle, check local junk car buyers in Phoenix.

Got a call in to ask about something for work, and the person who answered was straight-up nasty. If I ever need to deal with a junkyard again, I’ll make sure it’s not this one. What a waste of time. ---

First time scrapping, and wow, did I learn a lesson. I brought in what I thought was yellow brass, but it was clearly copper. Went back the next day to get the right price, and they still tried to lowball me—said it was No. 2 insulated copper, which it absolutely was not. It was piano wire, plain and simple. Another yard gave me the full No. 1 copper price for the same stuff. I won’t name them here out of respect, but let’s just say I won’t be back. If you’re new to this, watch out—some places will take advantage and leave you feeling ripped off. At least I got a free education out of it. ---

These guys are solid—good prices, great service, and they actually take the time to sort through your scrap to make sure you get the best deal, especially if you’re bringing in a lot. Family-run, and it shows. I’ll be back. ---

Been coming here for years, and honestly, it’s one of those places you don’t expect to find but ends up being perfect for what you need. If you’re into metalwork or custom projects, they’ve got some solid pieces—nothing fancy, but good quality. The guys running the place are no-nonsense but fair, and it’s a small family operation, so they really know their stuff. Some people seem to think they’re too blunt or whatever, but come on—it’s hot as hell in Phoenix all day, and they’re just trying to get their work done. Cut them some slack. They’re good people, and they’re always getting new stuff in for makers and builders. Just bring cash—they don’t take cards. ---
