Arnold Motor Supply is a self-service auto salvage yard and parts store in Muscatine, Iowa. Located at 610 Grandview Ave, the business has been open since 1975, offering both new and used auto parts alongside a junkyard where customers can browse and remove parts themselves. The yard focuses on affordable, reusable components, especially for older or discontinued vehicle models that are hard to find elsewhere. While they don’t have a Google rating, their long-standing presence in Muscatine makes them a familiar spot for salvaged parts and scrap metal recycling.

Services & What to Expect

Arnold Motor Supply is a self-service salvage yard, meaning customers can enter during business hours to find and remove parts from wrecked or donated vehicles. The yard has a mix of cars, trucks, and SUVs, with parts ranging from engines and transmissions to body panels and interior components. You won’t need special tools to enter, but bring your own for part removal.

The business also handles scrap metal recycling, so customers can drop off old vehicles or metal debris. Pricing for parts isn’t listed online, but the self-service model means you pay only for what you take—no extra labor fees. If you’re looking to get rid of an old car, the yard may take it, but call (563) 264-2060 to confirm their current policies.

Staff can help identify parts or check inventory, but they don’t offer installation services. You’ll need to handle fitting and installing parts yourself.

If you’re selling a junk car, Arnold Motor Supply might be an option, but check their policies first.

I never expected to write a review this bad, but here we are. A few years back, I needed the original engine for my ’79 Ford, and everyone said Arnold’s was the place to go. So I took it in. The first red flag was when the tech kept pushing me to buy a remanufactured engine instead of rebuilding the original. When I asked how much the reman would cost, he said about the same as a rebuild, so I stuck with my plan. He warned me it might take a while since they were backed up, but I told him I wasn’t in a hurry. A year later, I called to check in. The tech remembered me and the engine, but it hadn’t even been touched yet. He said they were busy, and I wasn’t too worried since I’d told them I wasn’t in a rush. He promised they’d get to it soon. Nine months after that, I called again. They’d taken the engine apart, but that was it. Frustrating, but I let it go. This went on for months—me calling, them saying it was next in line, but nothing happening. By June 2024, I found out they’d sent the block to their Spencer location for work. Then the spring floods hit, and my block ended up underwater for who knows how long. The tech apologized and said they’d send it back to Muscatine to check for damage. At that point, I was beyond upset—years of waiting, and now the block might be ruined. I called again in September 2024. They had the block back, but the tech hadn’t even looked at it yet. He said he would and would call me back. I forgot to follow up, but when I finally stopped in on May 30, 2025, nothing had changed. I’d had enough—I just wanted my engine back, excuses or not. This whole experience was a nightmare. I’ll never bring business to Arnold again, and I won’t recommend them to anyone. ---

Unlike other parts stores where you get some kid who just Googles everything, Arnold’s actually knows their stuff. The people there are helpful, fast, and don’t waste your time. ---

Kevin in the motor shop didn’t just meet the deadline for my son’s engine—he beat it. The work was top-notch, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with a job like this. Kevin, you made our day—thanks a ton! ---

Every time I go to Arnold’s Motor Supply in Muscatine, I get great service. They ask what you need, get it for you, and usually have it ready the next day if they have to order it. I’ve rarely had to wait long, and when I do, it’s never for more than a day. Thanks, Muscatine Arnold’s—you guys are the best! ---

I walked in with a weird little problem—a screw stuck in the base of my reading light. The guy in the back somehow got it out, and I have no idea how he did it. Friendly people, and even though I didn’t catch his name, he was a lifesaver!
