Overview

Atlantic Used Auto Parts at 6544 Essington Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19153

Atlantic Used Auto Parts is a self-service auto salvage yard and used auto parts store in Philadelphia. Customers can browse and remove parts from junked vehicles themselves or buy pre-inspected used parts for cars, trucks, and SUVs. The yard is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and closed on weekends and holidays.

Services & What to Expect

Atlantic Used Auto Parts offers two main ways to get auto parts: self-service salvage and pre-inspected used parts. Customers can either search the yard for parts themselves or buy parts that have already been checked and cleaned. The yard stocks parts for both domestic and foreign vehicles, including engines, transmissions, body panels, interior components, and electrical parts.

Self-Service Salvage (U-Pull-It)

The self-service area lets customers look through the yard for the parts they need. Tools are usually available, but bringing your own can help if you need something specific. You’ll need a valid driver’s license to enter. Pricing works by the vehicle—you pay for the car you pick, then take the parts you want. The yard doesn’t help with removal, so you’ll need to handle that yourself.

Pre-Inspected Used Parts

Alongside self-service salvage, Atlantic Used Auto Parts sells parts that have already been inspected and cleaned. These are kept in a showroom or parts area, so you can find what you need without searching the yard. Prices are listed per part, and you can buy them without entering the salvage area.

Vehicle Disposal

If you need to get rid of an old or non-running vehicle, Atlantic Used Auto Parts may take it. While they don’t advertise a cash-for-cars program, many salvage yards in the area accept vehicles for parts or scrap. Call ahead at (215) 492-2222 to check if they’re currently buying junk cars.

  • Your vehicle’s VIN, make, model, and year (if looking for specific parts)

Called ahead to see if they had the part I needed, and they straight-up told me not to bother. Said it was too much hassle, that I should try somewhere else. Didn’t even try to help—just brushed me off. ---

Ordered a part here, and it’s been weeks. They said it’d be in one day, but I still don’t have it. Absolute joke of a place. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Every time I call, it’s the same runaround. Zero stars, no question. ---

Honestly, these guys are unreal. My car looked like it got hit by a train, but they fixed it up so well I almost didn’t recognize it. Dropped it off at lunch on Monday, picked it up Tuesday—no joke. Charles and the rest of the crew were super nice, didn’t make me feel like an idiot for asking questions, and the price was way better than I expected. If I could, I’d give them 11 stars just for how fast and good they were. ---

Took my car in for repairs over a month ago, and it’s still not fixed. Every time I called, they’d give me some excuse or another—never a straight answer. Paid them $1,100 upfront, and for the first few weeks, it’s like they forgot the car was even there. Finally lost my patience and showed up in person, and that’s when they actually started working on it. Unbelievable. ---

Closed up my shop early to drive out here and grab a transmission for $800, and when I got there, the case was glued shut with epoxy. Had to wait until 9:30 at night just to get a refund from the “bookkeeper,” who acted like I was inconveniencing *her*. If you run a legit repair shop and care about your work, don’t waste your time or money here. I can’t believe they thought I’d actually pay for that.
