Services & What to Expect

Barefield's Auto Salvage is a self-service yard. You enter the lot, search for parts yourself, and buy them on the spot. There’s no online parts catalog, so you’ll need to visit in person to see what’s available.

  • Self-service parts: You locate and remove parts yourself. Tools for cutting, wrenching, or prying are available to rent or buy on-site.
  • Used parts sales: Parts are sold as-is, no guarantees. Prices depend on the part’s condition and how common it is.
  • Transmission rebuilding: The yard rebuilds manual transmissions, transfer cases, and rear ends. Call (479) 967-3263 to set this up in advance.
  • Truck parts: While the yard has parts for all vehicles, it’s best known for truck components, including diesel and heavy-duty parts.

The yard doesn’t offer towing or help removing parts from the lot. You’ll need your own truck or trailer to haul away what you buy. Cash is the only payment accepted.

If you have an old car or truck you no longer need, check if Barefield’s buys junk vehicles. Many salvage yards do, though this one doesn’t advertise it. Call (479) 967-3263 to ask. If they don’t, local cash-for-cars buyers in Russellville can often give you a fair price for scrap metal or parts.

The guy behind the counter acted like I was wasting his time, and after making me wait around for half an hour, he finally told me they didn’t even have the part I’d been waiting for—even though someone had said over the phone they did. What a waste of time. ---

They didn’t have the exact part I was after, but the person on the phone was actually really nice about it—helped me track down what I needed somewhere else. Made the whole thing a lot easier than it could’ve been. ---

I walked in needing a pair of headlights for my Chevy, and the whole place gave off this vibe like they couldn’t be bothered. Stood there for 15 minutes before I just said screw it and left. If you’re dropping a grand on something, maybe they’d care, but for a hundred bucks? Not worth the hassle. ---

Honestly, this place is the real deal for parts or engines. The guys running it are the kind of folks you don’t run into much anymore—good, no-nonsense people who actually know their stuff. I’ll be back, no question. Thanks, y’all. ---

The service here is terrible. The guy I talked to couldn’t even be bothered to stay on the phone—took a personal call and just left me standing there like an idiot. Prices are way higher than other yards around here, too. The U-Pick section’s okay, but the location on Highway 7T is a pain to get to. Not worth the trouble.
