The crew here was cool, got things done fast, and didn’t lowball me on the price. No hassle, no nonsense—just a straightforward deal. Wouldn’t hesitate to bring more stuff by. ---

Hands down the worst scrap yard I’ve ever dealt with. Overpriced, messy, and the people there couldn’t care less. I’d rather haul my junk to the dump than go back. ---

Honestly, this place is a steal—prices are way better than most, everything’s neat and easy to find, and the guys running it are actually nice to talk to. We’ll be back next time we’ve got scrap to unload. ---

Bluff City Metal in Elgin made recycling my scrap metal stupid easy. Fast, no-bullshit service from start to finish, and the staff actually knew what they were doing. Prices were fair, drop-off was simple, and they clearly care about doing it right—no dumping, just proper recycling. First time I’ve actually felt good about getting rid of scrap. If you’ve got metal to unload, this is the place. I’m already planning my next trip.

Zero stars. Bluff City Recycling is a scam operation—pure and simple. They’ll lie right to your face if you let them. I showed up with two identical scrap machines, each weighing around 25,000 lbs. First one? They “weighed” it at 20,000 lbs, then docked me for junk like it was a crime. I didn’t argue—just took the second machine to South Shore Recycling, where it actually weighed 26,000 lbs. The difference? Bluff shorted me by 5,000 lbs *and* charged me like I owed them. South Shore paid me $2,588 with minimal deductions. Meanwhile, Bluff’s “deal” was barely $2,000. Oh, and their crane operator? Clueless. Damaged my trailer unloading, then kicked me out when I tried to report it. Banned me, like I’d ever want to step foot in that place again. They think their “by mouth” policy and “we’re not responsible” nonsense will save them? Please. They’re thieves with a sign, and Hugo’s crew are the clowns running the circus. Do *not* take your scrap there. You’ve been warned. ---
