Services & What to Expect

Brandywine Automotive Center is a self-service salvage yard where customers find and remove their own used auto parts. The yard holds vehicles of all makes and models, with parts ranging from engines and transmissions to body panels, interior components, and electrical systems. You’re responsible for locating, removing, and paying for the parts you need.

How Self-Service Salvage Works

  • No appointment needed: Walk in during business hours—no scheduling required.
  • Bring your own tools: A basic toolkit (sockets, wrenches, pry bars) is needed to remove parts. The yard doesn’t rent tools.
  • Pay per part: Pricing is set by the part, not the vehicle. Staff will check the part and give you a price before removal.
  • No core charges: Unlike some yards, Brandywine doesn’t require a core deposit for engines or transmissions.
  • Retail supplies: The store sells oils, filters, spark plugs, and other maintenance items for quick fixes.

What Parts Are Available?

The yard carries a mix of domestic and foreign vehicles, including:

  • Engines and transmissions (automatic and manual)
  • Body panels (doors, hoods, fenders, bumpers)
  • Suspension and drivetrain parts (control arms, differentials, axles)
  • Interior components (seats, dashboards, door panels)
  • Electrical parts (wiring harnesses, alternators, starters)
  • Braking components (calipers, rotors, master cylinders)

I was promised my SUV’s transmission would take two weeks to replace. Now it’s been over a month, and I’m still stuck with a rental. Every time I call, someone new—Mary, Joshua, whoever—has a different excuse. First, they sent the wrong transmission. Then they *did* order the right one, but it sat in the back while the mechanic fixed his own car. No one seems to care that I’m paying for a rental while this drags on. Even after taking twice as long as they said, my car still isn’t a priority. And the chaos doesn’t stop there. They told me another transmission was ordered, but when I called five days later, they said it wasn’t. No explanation, just “it’s being rushed.” Then Friday, they said it was there and my car would be ready in a couple days. Monday, they were “working on it.” Tuesday, they claimed the transmission wasn’t even there. Joshua finally “found” it today—after the mechanic finished his own car—and now I’m supposed to wait for him to actually show up. This whole ordeal could’ve been handled better. A simple heads-up would’ve gone a long way. ---

Worst experience of my life. I needed a transmission, and the quote seemed fair enough. Picked up my car on 11/29/25, and by the end of the day, the engine light was on. Took it back, and they told me I needed spark plugs and a coil. Got that done, picked it up on 12/6/25—only for it to sound worse than when I dropped it off. Now the idle is sky-high, and it runs like it’s about to fall apart. I’m stuck buying a whole new car because of this mess. $5,500 down the drain, plus whatever I’m paying for the new one. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here, let alone recommend it to anyone. Avoid this place at all costs. ---

I spent all day looking for a rim and tire in Waldorf—no luck. Three different people told me to try Brandywine Junkyard. So I called, and as soon as I asked if they had what I needed, the guy hung up. I called back, and the next person answered. I asked, *“Why’d the first guy hang up?”* Guess what? He hung up even faster. If answering a simple question is too much trouble, maybe you shouldn’t be on the phone in the first place. Absolute bums. ---

This place is a joke. The customer service is the worst I’ve ever dealt with, and they clearly don’t care about fixing their problems. I called about an hour and a half before closing, just to ask a quick question about rotors. Every time, they’d pick up, put me on hold, and leave me there for 20 minutes straight. No call back, no answer—nothing. I wasted my time, and I’m not wasting money here either. Reading the reviews, I still gave them a chance, but it was a mistake. They’ll lie about when your car will be done, leave you in the dark, and then act like they care when you complain. Their “lifetime warranty” is just a scam because their work is garbage. One person waited from August to December for a car that still wasn’t running right. A simple phone call could’ve fixed so much, but they don’t bother. If you value your time or your car, don’t step foot in this place. They’ll string you along, overpromise, and underdeliver. Hope they shut down soon. ---

Called Brandywine Auto this morning to check on parts for my truck. Phillip was great—friendly, knew his stuff, and got me what I needed fast. I sent someone else to grab the parts, and Phillip remembered our conversation right away. In and out in no time. Plus, the prices? Unbeatable. Thanks, Phillip—you made this easy.
