Overview

C & D Scrap Metal Recyclers Co., Inc. at 6775 Bingle Rd, Houston, TX 77092

C & D Scrap Metal Recyclers is a Houston scrap metal and auto salvage yard at 6775 Bingle Rd. The business focuses on metal recycling and sells used auto parts to customers on a self-service basis. Unlike some junkyards that only deal in vehicle parts, this location prioritizes scrap metal processing while keeping a stock of salvaged automotive components. The yard follows Texas recycling rules and standard scrap metal handling procedures. Customers can buy parts or sell scrap metal here, but the business doesn’t buy whole vehicles. Hours are weekdays 7:30 AM–5:00 PM and Saturday mornings 8:00 AM–12:00 PM. They’re closed Sundays.

Services & What to Expect

C & D Scrap Metal Recyclers offers two main services: scrap metal recycling and used auto parts. For metal recycling, they take copper, aluminum, steel, brass, and stainless steel, with prices based on current market rates. For auto parts, customers search the yard themselves for engines, transmissions, body panels, and other components from salvaged vehicles. Staff don’t help with part searches.

Scrap Metal Recycling

The yard accepts common scrap metals, including:

  • Copper (wiring, pipes, tubing)
  • Aluminum (siding, wheels, castings)
  • Steel (appliances, structural beams)
  • Brass and bronze
  • Stainless steel
Customers must sort metals by type and remove any non-metal debris. The yard provides scales for weighing, and payment is made on-site after verification. Texas law requires extra documentation for copper sales to prevent theft.

Used Auto Parts

The salvage yard has parts from decommissioned vehicles, organized by make and model when possible. Common items include:

  • Engines and transmissions
  • Body panels (doors, hoods, fenders)
  • Suspension components
  • Electrical parts (wiring harnesses, alternators)
  • Interior pieces (seats, dashboards)
Parts are sold "as-is" with no guarantees. Customers must bring their own tools for removal, and the yard doesn’t disassemble parts. Pricing depends on condition and demand—some high-value items need approval before removal.

What to Bring

For scrap metal:

  • Separated metals (no mixed loads)
  • Valid ID (needed for transactions over $500)
  • Truck or trailer for large loads
  • Gloves and safety gear (recommended)
For auto parts:
  • Vehicle details (VIN or make/model for matching)
  • Tools for part removal
  • Payment (cash preferred, cards may not work)
  • Truck or trailer for large/heavy parts

Important Notes

The yard doesn’t:

  • Buy whole vehicles (check our cash for junk cars page for Houston buyers)
  • Offer warranties on parts
  • Disassemble parts for customers
  • Accept credit for parts
Texas law requires documentation for copper sales, and the yard may ask for extra verification on large transactions.

Honestly, this place is great—except for one huge headache. The computers here are *painfully* slow, and because of that, there’s always a line. It’s not just a quick wait; you’re stuck there forever while the system crawls. The staff, though? They’re super nice, so at least there’s that. Thanks to C & D for the good vibes, but seriously, fix the tech. Upgrade the internet or get new computers—this is ridiculous. ---

The Bingle location? Solid. Everyone there’s friendly, actually *wants* to help, and the place isn’t a total mess—which is more than I can say for most scrap yards. Easy to bring my stuff in, easy to leave happy. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. ---

Look, we’ve been with C&D for years, and they’ve always been solid. But something’s off now. We started back up with them in July on a commercial account, and they still owe us over $12K. Two months in, and we’ve gotten *one* tiny payment—just enough to keep us from yelling, I guess. Now I can’t even get the owner to call me back. Another recycler told me they’ve had people jump ship from C&D lately, and honestly? It’s a shame. I get that growing pains happen when a business changes hands, but this isn’t how you treat customers. We move 5-10K in scrap a month, and we’d never pull this crap with *our* clients. If they don’t sort this out, they’re gonna lose a lot more than just us. ---

That’s it—I’m done with this place. Took in an old generator and a motor that I’d given up on fixing. They split them apart, called the generator and motor “aluminum breakage,” and the frame “shreddable tin.” Not a word about the copper or steel. So yeah, I’ll take my $2 bill, laugh at the irony, and never come back. There’s plenty of other yards that won’t nickel-and-dime me like this.

We’ve been bringing our daughter to C&D to teach her about recycling—mostly aluminum cans—and they’ve been amazing with her. Every time, they cheer her on, give her a lollipop or one of those little aluminum cups as a bonus, *and* she walks out with a $2 bill. She loves it, and honestly? So do we. It’s the little things, right? ---
