Services & What to Expect

Calbag Metals Company runs a self-service auto salvage yard where customers find and remove parts from junked cars. The yard has a mix of domestic and foreign vehicles, with parts like engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior components. You can check a parts catalog or online inventory before visiting to see what’s available.

Customers enter the yard, locate the vehicle with the part they need, and remove it themselves. Basic tools are usually on hand, but bring your own if you need something specific. You pay by the pound for the part you take, based on current scrap metal rates. The yard doesn’t sell parts individually—you pay for the weight of what you remove.

The prices here are fair, and the staff is solid. No complaints—just a straightforward place to get rid of scrap. ---

I showed up at 3:55 PM thinking I had plenty of time, but the guy at the gate acted like I was late. He said they close at 4:15 sharp—no exceptions, even if you’re still unloading. Who even closes at 4:15? I got my copper and left, but I’m not coming back. This place isn’t worth the hassle. ---

Watch out for this one. They hand you a check and say you can’t cash it for two hours. I waited two and a half hours, and Wells Fargo still wouldn’t take it. The pay’s decent, but only if you actually get the money in hand. ---

I got screwed over because I didn’t know what I was doing. By the time I realized, it was too late. Don’t bring your scrap here if you’re new to this—you’ll regret it. ---

This is the cleanest, most well-run scrap yard I’ve been to. The guys at the dock were cool and actually took the time to explain the difference between my wire types—I’d never scrapped wire before, so that helped. Plus, they let you take some cash out of your total instead of just giving a check, which is nice. The cashier even broke down the difference between cash and check payments based on what you bring in. If you’re looking for a good scrap yard, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back.
