Services & What to Expect

Cantley's Auto Parts is a self-service salvage yard. You’ll search for and remove parts from junked vehicles on your own. The yard doesn’t offer part retrieval, so bring your own tools and be ready to take apart what you need. Common parts include engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior components, though inventory changes as new vehicles come in.

How Self-Service Works

  • Find the part: Walk the yard to locate the vehicle with the part you need.
  • Remove the part: You’ll need tools—Cantley’s doesn’t provide them. Disassemble the part yourself.
  • Pay by weight: Pricing is usually based on the weight of the part, with a minimum charge per visit.
  • No guarantees: Parts are sold as-is, with no warranties or refunds if they’re damaged or broken.

What to Bring

  • Tools like wrenches, sockets, and pry bars
  • Gloves and safety gear—the yard can be dirty and rough
  • A truck, trailer, or large vehicle to haul parts
  • Cash or card, depending on what they accept
  • Vehicle details (if matching parts to a specific car)

What to Avoid

  • Stealing parts—security cameras and staff watch the yard.
  • Taking parts from vehicles not marked for salvage (only tagged junkers are available).
  • Leaving tools or belongings behind—the yard isn’t responsible for lost items.

If you’re looking to get rid of an old car , Cantley’s may take donations. Call ahead at (614) 274-7519 to check their current buy-back policy.

I called this place about an engine, and they swore they had it. Drove all the way out there for nothing—turns out they didn’t even have it. Wasted an hour of my time. The whole yard looked half-empty, and the guys working there could barely string together a sentence in English. Not worth the hassle. I’ll just go to Riverside Auto or somewhere in Dayton where I can actually talk to someone. ---

Pulled up and the whole place looked like someone’s junky backyard. Didn’t even bother sticking around. ---

They’ve already pulled most of the parts out, so you don’t have to dig through cars. Just ask at the office. Service was solid.

This junkyard is the absolute worst in the city. I was just looking at some motors since they didn’t have the exact part I needed, and one of the workers went up front and told them I was stealing parts off their motors—which is a flat-out lie. Then the guy at the counter came out screaming at me for no reason. Unbelievable. I spend thousands on car parts for my business, and this is how they treat customers? I’ll make sure everyone I know avoids this place. Fix your staff. ---

I’ve been coming here for years whenever I need used car parts. The staff is always friendly, the place is well-organized, and the prices are fair. They don’t just stand around—they actually help you find what you need. I tell everyone I know to check out Cantley’s if they’re looking for parts. ---
