The folks at Dubuque Salvage are the real deal—friendly, easy to talk to, and make the whole process feel less like a chore. You can tell they’ve been around forever because they just *fit* there. Love this place, love the people. Peggy Mihalakis ---

Let me tell you about Dittmer Recycling—what a joke. They missed our garbage pickup *again* because a car was parked near the cans. Instead of just moving it or asking, they skipped us like we don’t matter. This isn’t new, either. Last spring, their driver took pictures of tipped-over recycling bins and posted them online like, *"Fix your cans or we won’t take your trash."* Who does that? They dump trash everywhere, act like we’re bothering them, and treat customers like an afterthought. The city gave them a monopoly, so they don’t even try. Absolute garbage service. ---

I’ve called Dittmer Recycling *so many times* about my bin not getting emptied, only to have trash scattered all over my yard. They never come back to fix it, so I’m stuck with no space for the next week’s garbage. The driver will swear my bin wasn’t out—even though I put it out the night before. Their customer service is nonexistent. ---

Dittmer Salvage came through big time when I needed a dumpster fast. Kathy and her team were super flexible, got me what I needed the same day, and even handled the return smoothly. Prices were fair, and the whole experience was hassle-free. My customer was happy, and so was I! ---

Dittmer Recycling’s customer service is a disaster. They’ve skipped our recycling pickup multiple times, claiming it was too close to a car. Funny how the driver has time to snap a photo and send it to the office but can’t spare two seconds to move it or knock on the door. We’re always home—it’s not like they’d be bothering anyone. Must be nice to get paid for doing the bare minimum.
