Ed Jones Salvage at 589 Fleetwood Dr, Hot Springs, AR 71913

Ed Jones Salvage is a self-service auto salvage yard in Hot Springs. Open since the late 1970s, it offers used car parts, scrap metal, and vehicle components for DIY repairs. Customers can browse the inventory, remove parts themselves, and pay on-site. The yard carries parts from classic to newer vehicles, along with metals like aluminum, copper, steel, brass, and lead.

Services & What to Expect

Ed Jones Salvage is a self-service yard, meaning customers find, remove, and pay for parts themselves. The inventory includes parts from various vehicle makes and models, such as engines, transmissions, body panels, interior components, and mechanical parts. For scrap metal needs, the yard handles aluminum, copper, steel, brass, and lead.

How Self-Service Works

  • Browse the yard: Customers walk through the inventory to find parts. Vehicles are parked in rows, and parts may be labeled or organized by type.
  • Remove parts: Once a part is found, customers cut or disassemble it using their own tools. The yard provides basic cutting equipment, but bringing tools like bolt cutters or wrenches is recommended.
  • Pay for parts: After removing a part, customers bring it to the office to weigh and pay. Pricing is usually by weight or a flat fee per part.
  • No assistance required: Staff handle payments and basic questions but do not help locate or remove parts.

What to Bring

  • Tools for cutting and removing parts (bolt cutters, wrenches, pry bars).
  • A vehicle to transport parts.
  • Cash or an accepted payment method.
  • Gloves and safety gear for handling sharp metal.

Scrap Metal Recycling

The yard buys and sells scrap metal, including:

  • Aluminum (from wheels, trim, or engine parts)
  • Copper (from wiring, radiators, or brake lines)
  • Steel (from body panels, frames, or exhaust systems)
  • Brass (from plumbing or electrical components)
  • Lead (from batteries or older vehicle parts)
Pricing is based on current market rates and weight. Customers can sell scrap metal or buy from the yard’s stock.

The woman who answered the phone was straight-up rude and tried to screw me over on the price. I called ahead, got a quote, and she confirmed it twice—even repeated it back to me. Drove two hours to get there, and suddenly she wanted an extra $100. When I called her out, she acted like it was no big deal, just some little mistake. This isn’t the first time she’s pulled this crap. Don’t waste your time here. ---

I’ve known Ed for years—great guy, good friend. His daughter’s been running the place now, and she’s just as nice as he was. Always friendly, always willing to help. ---

Just wanted to clear up a few things. I do offer a 7-day warranty on used parts, 30 days on transmissions, rear ends, and engines. These are used parts, so they’re not brand new—keep that in mind. My policies are always posted on the wall, so you can check them before you buy. I get that not everyone’s happy, and I’m sorry for the negative reviews. But we’re a small shop, not some big corporation. Thanks for understanding, Michelle Heinz. ---

This place has been around for decades, and for good reason. Family-owned, local business—you don’t see that much anymore. If you want to keep Hot Springs strong, support the good ones. Ed Jones and his family meant a lot to this community, and his daughter and the staff keep that same care alive. A man who loved what he built, and it shows. ---

I’ve been going to Ed Jones for as long as I can remember, and I’ve never been treated like this before. Michelle’s attitude was awful—like she didn’t even want to be there. I bought a bad alternator, came back the next day to return it, and she flat-out told me she wouldn’t give me my money back. After some back and forth, I got my cash, but I’m done. She’s lost it. Go there if you want, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
