Overview

Empire Metals Recyclers LLC at 23820 W MC 85, Buckeye, AZ 85326

Empire Metals Recyclers LLC is a scrap metal and auto salvage yard in Buckeye, Arizona. Since 1998, they’ve bought scrap metal and sold used auto parts to both individuals and repair shops. The yard is at 23820 W MC 85 and offers a self-service u-pull-it area for customers to find their own parts.

Services & What to Expect

Empire Metals Recyclers handles two main services: scrap metal recycling and auto salvage. For scrap, they buy aluminum, copper, steel, and other metals—clean or dirty—for cash. Prices change based on type and condition. For auto salvage, customers can browse the u-pull-it yard for used parts like engines, transmissions, and body panels.

Self-Service Auto Salvage

The u-pull-it area lets customers search for parts on their own. Basic tools are usually available, but bring your own if you prefer. Common parts include:

  • Engines and transmissions
  • Body panels (doors, hoods, fenders)
  • Interior parts (seats, dashboards, trim)
  • Suspension and drivetrain components
  • Electrical parts (wiring harnesses, alternators, starters)
Prices are set by the yard and can vary. You remove parts yourself and pay at the exit. Check for any yard rules before taking parts.

Scrap Metal Recycling

The yard buys scrap metal, including:

  • Aluminum (cans, wheels, siding)
  • Copper (pipes, wiring, appliances)
  • Steel (appliances, construction scrap, car parts)
  • Brass and other non-ferrous metals
Prices depend on the metal type and condition. Clean, sorted metals usually pay more. Call ahead for current rates, as they change with market demand.

What to Bring

For scrap metal, bring sorted materials in manageable loads. For auto salvage, you’ll need:

  • Tools (if you prefer your own)
  • A way to haul parts (truck, trailer, or vehicle with space)
The yard doesn’t sell whole cars, but you can sell a junk car for cash through other services.

Customer Experiences

Reviews for Empire Metals Recyclers show mixed results. Some customers praise the staff, while others complain about pricing or service. Longtime visitors like Clayton say the staff is professional and reliable. Others, like Jay Tee and Joel Laird, report low offers for copper scrap. Adam Smith noted poor phone etiquette, with a staff member refusing to identify themselves.

Positive Feedback

Abe Tdan and Clayton had good experiences. Abe called the staff "really nice" and "no hassle." Clayton, a repeat customer, said, "Never had a single bad interaction with anyone who works here." Both reviews suggest the yard is a solid choice for scrap metal and auto parts.

Criticisms

Jay Tee and Joel Laird said copper prices were too low—Jay Tee got 70 cents a pound, the same as aluminum. Joel Laird received $14 for a 164-pound condenser, which he felt was unfair. Adam Smith’s review focused on a phone call where the staff member wouldn’t give their name.

These reviews show the yard works well for some but may require price checks or patience for others. Call ahead to confirm rates and be ready to discuss pricing for scrap metal.

Went there once, and I’ll definitely go back. The two guys who helped me were really nice—no attitude, no hassle. Dropped off a bunch of plastics and aluminum, and the price they gave me was more than fair. Location’s convenient, and they clearly know what they’re doing. This is where I’ll be taking all my scrap from now on. ---

Been coming here for ages, and honestly? Never had a single bad interaction with anyone who works here. To the people whining about service or how much they got paid—seriously, take a second to think. That guy complaining about "dirty copper" or the laundry machine? You’re not just selling scrap metal. They’ve got to sort it, store it, and deal with the extra hassle. Prices change daily, so does what they can pay per pound. Do some research before throwing a fit. I’ve never been shortchanged, lied to about weight, or given a bad deal. Most of these bad reviews? Probably from rude people who didn’t bother learning how this works before demanding things. And no, they don’t *have* to take your business—especially if you’re being a jerk. This place is solid. The staff’s always friendly, the pay’s fair, and I actually enjoy chatting with them. Might start collecting bottles just to keep bringing them more business. ---

Just left with five or six boxes of copper—mostly clean stuff, like pots, pans, and baking sheets. Maybe a few pieces had screws or brass, but 90% was solid copper. They tried to pay me 70 cents a pound for it, same as aluminum. I called them out on it—how is that fair? Worst recycling spot I’ve ever been to. No receipts, outdated setup, and they acted like they were doing me a favor. First and last time I’ll step foot in Arizona at one of these places. ---

Took in some leftover AC parts after a job, and they only gave me $14 for a 164-pound condenser—mostly copper. I would’ve unloaded the rest, but I was in a rush to finish the job. Won’t be back. Avondale’s got places that actually pay what things are worth. ---

Called for info, and the guy who answered just said "hello" with no name. Kept asking who I was talking to, but he kept dodging the question. Finally lost my temper, told him he was unprofessional, and hung up. He called back asking what my problem was, so I laid it out—he’s running a business, not a joke. He said he didn’t ask for my business, and I told him that’s exactly why I’m never coming back. Blocked his number. Don’t waste your time here.
