EMR Philadelphia - Delco is a self-service auto salvage yard and scrap metal recycling center at 3057 North 2nd Street in Philadelphia. The yard focuses on used auto parts, vehicle dismantling, and scrap metal recycling. Unlike parts stores, customers search the lot themselves and pull the parts they need for repairs or projects. It handles both American and foreign vehicles, making it a good choice for DIY mechanics, repair shops, and anyone looking for affordable used parts.

Services & What to Expect

EMR Philadelphia - Delco runs as a self-service salvage yard, meaning customers find and remove parts during business hours. The yard doesn’t buy vehicles from the public—it only dismantles and recycles cars already in stock. Staff can help identify parts and point out where they’re located but don’t remove them for customers. Tools may be available to rent or buy if needed.

Self-Service Auto Salvage Process

The process is simple:

  • Browse the inventory: Parts are sorted by make, model, and year. Signs may mark common part locations, but customers handle the search and removal.
  • Identify the part: Staff can confirm part names or show where a part is, but they don’t assist with removal.
  • Pay for the part: Prices are set per part, and payment is made at checkout. Bring cash or a card, as not all payment methods are accepted.

Scrap Metal Recycling

The yard also takes scrap metal for recycling. Metal is weighed and processed, with pricing based on current market rates. Check the website or call ahead for accepted metal types and pricing.

Customer Experience

Reviews mention efficient service and helpful staff. One customer said the yard reimbursed them after a lost ticket, which is rare in the industry. Others noted fair prices and a clean, organized space. The yard is seen as a reliable alternative to larger, farther salvage yards, with staff who treat customers well.

This place is solid—clean, friendly, and the people there actually help you out. Had a weird thing happen where someone stole my ticket and cashed it in, but instead of just writing it off, they reimbursed me. I was so relieved, honestly. Not every place would do that. ---

Haven’t dealt with these folks in years, but when I stopped by in April, I’ll admit I was a little annoyed at first. I tried to pull up to the scale, and they were still moving this huge crate off with a forklift—yelled at me to hold on. But honestly? They ended up paying me more than anywhere else, treated me like a person, and were way nicer than I expected. Compared to the last time I was here, it’s like a different place. That’s why I gave them five stars—no joke. ---

If you’re in Philly and need to recycle, this is the only place I trust. They’re straight-up with the weights, fair on pricing, and the staff doesn’t waste your time. Easy to work with, no headaches—just good service. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Used to go to Rhino all the time, but it’s just too far out. Delco’s yard is way better—cleaner, the staff actually talk to you like a human, and they don’t act like they’re doing you a favor. Keep it up, guys. ---
