Just sold a 32-foot aluminum ladder, two ladder racks, and two outriggers—totaled $120. They told me it was dirty aluminum and paid me 20 cents a pound. But it wasn’t dirty. Not even close. And right now, aluminum isn’t going for $0.20 *anywhere*. So yeah, either the guys in the office are running some kind of scam, or they’re just clueless. Either way, I’m posting this so corporate can sort it out. ---

I was sorting through the non-ferrous stuff last week, and what I thought was just some mini aluminum bus bars turned out to be #2 copper. Sean, the guy running the scale, caught it right away. I told him good eye—honestly, that’s half the reason I keep coming back here. The people who work at EMR actually give a damn, and that’s not something you find everywhere. ---

There was this one guy who straight-up took advantage of me while I was distracted with my kids. He rang up all my #2 copper like it was nothing, but at least 60% of that was clean #1—no tarnish, no rust, nothing. Didn’t realize until I was already driving off to the barbecue. My bad for trusting him to do the right thing, but come on—he could’ve just let it slide once I left. Now I’m out about 30 pounds of #1 copper, paid for like it was junk. ---

It’s weird how neat this scrapyard is now. Not saying that’s a bad thing—just different. Back in the 90s, when I’d come here with my neighbor, the piles were stacked two or three stories high. Now? It’s all open, organized. Almost too clean, honestly. The staff, though? They’re sharp. Fast, no nonsense. If you’re trying to move metal quick and get a fair deal, back your truck in and get to work. ---

I came here with my wife and a one-year-old, spent forever dealing with their nonsense, and left with nothing. They wasted my time, barked orders at me like I was their employee, then refused to take the metal at all. Who even runs this place—some directors who think treating customers like garbage is acceptable? Their apology means nothing. I showed up 20 minutes before closing with 250 pounds of aluminum and copper. They made me unload the whole van myself, then told me to carry it 25 feet to a box. I asked why—when they see a big load, they usually bring a forklift or a bin and handle it. But no, they just stood there, rude as hell, and when I refused to do their job for them, they kicked me out. Eight hours of my life, and not a single check for payment. Never in my life have I been treated this badly. Management needs to fire these people before someone else gets screwed over.
