Overview

Erie Auto Salvage Inc at 4878 E I-25 Frontage Rd, Dacono, CO 80514

Erie Auto Salvage Inc is a self-service junkyard in Dacono, Colorado, at 4878 E I-25 Frontage Rd. Since 1977, it’s been a go-to spot for used auto parts, where customers can browse and pull parts themselves. Open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, the yard offers engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior parts at lower prices than new ones. It’s a practical option for DIYers, mechanics, and anyone working on older vehicles in the Front Range.

What to Find and How It Works

Erie Auto Salvage is a self-service yard—customers walk the lot, find parts on their own, and remove them. No professional removal service is available, so bring basic tools. Common parts in stock include:

  • Engines and transmissions
  • Body panels (doors, hoods, fenders)
  • Interior parts (seats, dashboards, trim)
  • Suspension and drivetrain components
  • Electrical parts (wiring, sensors)

Prices aren’t listed online, so check parts in person. Costs depend on demand, vehicle age, and condition. If you’re looking to sell a junk car, Erie doesn’t buy vehicles, but nearby cash-for-cars services do.

Parts are sold as-is, with no warranties. Always verify fit and condition before buying.

Honestly, if you’re looking for Saturn or Taurus parts west of the Mississippi, this is the spot. The guys who work here know their stuff and don’t treat you like you’re wasting their time. Every car is clearly labeled, and their inventory—over 3,000 vehicles, all kinds of years and models—is actually accurate. Been coming here for years, and I’ve never left empty-handed. Family’s been running the place for 60+ years, so you know they’re not going anywhere. ---

These folks are the real deal. I walked in needing a specific part, and not only did they have it, but the price was way better than anywhere else. No haggling, no nonsense—just good service. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in a bind. ---

This place has been my first stop for classic car parts for years. The guy who runs it always knows what he’s talking about, and he doesn’t try to gouge you on prices. Some of the stuff he’s got? You won’t find it anywhere else—manufacturers stopped making it ages ago. Glad he lets regular people like me walk in and browse. ---

If you’re restoring a classic and can’t find that one part, this is where you go. Best spot in Northern Colorado for vintage car bits, hands down. I’m here at least four or five times a year, and I’ve never left without what I needed. If you’re looking for something specific and I’ve already got my hands on it, shoot me a message—I’ll hook you up if I can. No sense in both of us hunting the same thing down.

4.9 You don’t see places like this anymore. The lobby looks like it was plucked straight out of some old TV show—Mayberry meets *Antiques Roadshow*, but in a good way. I’d give them a perfect 5.0, but they didn’t have the Legacy roof panel I was hunting for. That said, one of the owners didn’t just shrug and say “sorry.” He dug through 150 cars, then called a shop in the next state to track one down. That’s the kind of effort you don’t see every day. Worth the trip, no question. Cheers, Hart ---
