Foundation Chevrolet Cadillac Parts is a self-service auto salvage yard in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Located at 11001 W Interstate 70 Frontage Rd N, it lets customers find and remove their own used parts from decommissioned vehicles. The business has served the Denver area for over 30 years, offering both new and used parts for Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicles. While the focus is on GM brands, some parts for other makes may be available.

The yard is open to the public during set hours, with staff on hand to help identify parts and provide tools for removal. Customers handle their own part extraction and transport.

Services & What to Expect

Foundation Chevrolet Cadillac Parts works as both a parts store and a self-service salvage yard. Here’s what customers can do:

  • Browse the salvage yard: The u-pull-it area has decommissioned vehicles where you can find and remove parts yourself. Staff will help with tools and part removal.
  • Buy new and used parts: The store sells new OEM and aftermarket parts alongside used components taken from salvaged vehicles. Common items include engines, transmissions, suspension parts, and interior trim.
  • Get help from staff: Employees can identify parts, check if they fit your vehicle, and show you how to remove them. They also inspect used parts before sale.
  • Use provided tools: The yard lends out basic tools like wrenches, sockets, and pry bars. Customers should bring gloves and safety gear.

The salvage yard mainly carries parts for Chevrolet and Cadillac, but other makes may be available depending on inventory. Prices depend on the part’s condition, age, and demand. You’re responsible for transporting removed parts off-site.

This dealership is a total nightmare. Bought a truck, traded in another, and now I’m stuck with a lemon. My truck’s been in the shop more than it’s been on the road—seven months out of the year! They won’t take it back, and now my credit’s getting wrecked because I refuse to keep paying for something I can’t even drive. And now they’re saying the warranty won’t cover the latest repair? I’m supposed to pay for this? People, run the other way. Oh, and watch out—they’ll try to upsell you on a warranty, telling you it’s $2,999 when the paperwork shows almost $8,000. Had to fight to get my money back. Absolute scam artists. Don’t trust them. ---

Picked up my new Chevy pickup here, and the whole process was smooth. Got plenty of warranty coverage, and I’m really happy with it. Driving it around now, and it’s exactly what I wanted. No complaints—just a solid truck.

My mini bus has been making this awful squeaking noise in the brakes, and it’s only gotten worse. I scheduled an appointment, but they couldn’t get to it for a week—which, fine, I get it’s busy. I dropped it off Monday night, and the staff was nice enough. But then radio silence. I called Thursday, and they said the tech would call me right back. Never happened. Left messages, got nothing. Called Friday, and no one even picked up. By the weekend, I’d given up. Finally, on the last Monday, I got a voicemail from the tech saying he’d text instead, but that never came either. When I finally got through, he said he’d driven it a few days and never heard the noise. Yeah, right. They had my work bus for a whole week and did absolutely nothing. Picked it up because I had no choice, and guess what? Still squeaking. A week wasted, no call backs, no fixes—just a bunch of empty promises. Won’t be back. ---

Went to Medved Chevrolet’s parts department this morning to cut two keys for my ’05 GTO. Walked in, and not a single greeting—just two employees staring at me like I was interrupting something. Asked if they could cut keys from my good key using the blanks I brought. The guy didn’t even look at them before saying, “We don’t cut non-GM keys.” Never checked the blanks, never confirmed if they were GM or not. I explained they were from Holden—GM’s Australian branch, the same company that built my GTO—and he just repeated the same line about “not knowing the metal” and “damaging the machine.” I’ve cut keys for years, and I’ve never heard of some magical non-GM metal that’ll ruin a key cutter. Pretty sure the real issue was that I didn’t buy the blanks from *them*. Guess I’ll take my business elsewhere. Thanks for the attitude, Medved. ---

Dean swore this was the best place in Denver for my Hummer H1. Needed an oil change, a leaky tire seal fixed, and the ignition swapped out. Instead, they kept pushing me to do a $3,600 service that I’d just had done for $2,000 five months earlier. When I finally got it back, the oil was low on the gauge, and the filters were the same ones I’d brought in. Then they claimed four seals and two disconnects on my tire had all failed at once—conveniently charging me triple for parts I didn’t even need. And the kicker? They said they couldn’t get a new ignition cylinder, even though the part is everywhere. Charged me $152 just to lie to my face. Stay far away. ---
