Junkyard Auto Parts is a self-service auto salvage yard in Los Angeles. Customers can browse and remove used auto parts from a large inventory of junked vehicles. It runs under the LKQ Pick Your Part brand and uses a u-pull-it model—you find, remove, and pay for parts yourself.
The yard is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It’s a good option for mechanics, DIYers, and car owners looking for affordable replacement parts.
Services & What to Expect
Junkyard Auto Parts is a self-service salvage yard. You handle finding and removing parts yourself. The yard provides basic tools like wrenches and pry bars, and a parts locator system helps you track down the vehicles with the parts you need.
How Self-Service Works
Find parts: Use the on-site locator or browse the yard to spot vehicles with what you need.
Remove parts: Tools are available for disassembly. Staff can help if you get stuck, but you do the work.
Pay by weight: Cost depends on the weight of the parts you take. A scale at the exit sets the final price.
No sign-up needed: Walk in anytime—no membership or prior registration required.
What Parts Are Available?
The yard stocks parts from a variety of vehicles, including:
Engines and transmissions
Body panels (doors, fenders, hoods)
Interior pieces (seats, dashboards, trim)
Suspension and drivetrain components
Electrical parts (wiring harnesses, sensors, lights)
Braking systems (calipers, rotors, master cylinders)
Inventory changes often as new cars arrive. Common makes and models are usually in stock, but availability depends on recent additions.

Dude tried to charge me $100 for a used AC vent—same part is $60 brand new at the dealer. Absolute joke. Their prices are insane, and I hope they go out of business. eBay had better deals *and* I didn’t have to deal with their nonsense.

The cashier with the weird purple hair was a nightmare—rude, overpriced, and clearly needed a chill pill. Not coming back, and I sure as hell won’t recommend this place.

Said they open at 8, but no—9 AM. And half the staff wasn’t even wearing masks.

Honestly, I liked the place—spent a few hours wandering around, checking out the cars. About 40% were in decent shape, missing just rims or small stuff. Another 30% had busted consoles, no seats, engines torn out. The last 30%? Total scrap. I was hunting for OEM speakers for my old Daewoo, but the prices were a rip-off. $10 a speaker? For 14-year-old 40w speakers? I figured $4 max. And the Bose ones? Should’ve been $10 each, not whatever they were asking. Even grabbed a cigarette lighter stub—$2.50 on top of the $2 entry fee? Might as well have stolen one from a Jaguar. Good for luxury parts, but for anything else, eBay’s your best bet.

My brother and I always have a blast at the junkyard. We make up stories about the cars, who drove ‘em, what they did with ‘em—it’s a whole thing. This one in Wilmington’s got way more cars, and it’s actually organized. Yeah, you take a gamble on junk, but you learn how to pull parts without wrecking your own car. Not that you *should* break stuff, but you get it. Way better than the Econo place in Norwalk.
