Then suddenly, a bunch of workers appeared, the cart in front of us got called up, and my buddy and I started dumping buckets of wire onto ours as fast as we could. We were almost done when the guy at the scale kicked us out—because not all the buckets were on the cart yet. (I’d kept some in the truck last minute because of the chaos, and we were moving as fast as humanly possible.) The guy behind us was just standing there with almost nothing to scrap, and he looked just as confused as we were. This whole system is a mess. You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot or deal with people cutting in from behind or off the street. Just let us pull up front and get helped—no more of this nonsense. ---

I tried another place in Lee’s Summit on a Saturday, and the office staff treated me like garbage before I even got started. So I called Langley, explained what I had—including all the paperwork proving ownership since my scrap comes from government auctions—and the woman on the phone was actually *nice*.
