Langston's Used Auto Parts at 8011 US-301, Tampa, FL 33637

Langston's Used Auto Parts is a self-service auto salvage yard and parts store at 8011 US-301 in Tampa. Open since 1975, the business sells used car parts, scrap metal, and salvage components. Unlike parts stores, customers browse the yard themselves, removing parts from vehicles as needed. The yard carries parts from domestic and foreign cars, trucks, and vans, including engines, transmissions, body panels, and mechanical components. They also buy scrap metal from customers.

Services & What to Expect

Langston's is a self-service salvage yard, meaning customers find and remove their own parts. The business doesn’t remove parts for you, so bring your own tools. The yard stocks a variety of used auto parts, such as:

  • Engines and transmissions
  • Body panels and bumpers
  • Mechanical parts (differentials, axles, suspension)
  • Electrical components (alternators, starters, wiring)
  • Interior parts (seats, dashboards, door panels)
  • Scrap metal and recyclable materials

Parts come from both domestic and foreign vehicles, so you might find rare or hard-to-locate components. Check the yard’s inventory online or visit to confirm what’s available. Langston's doesn’t clean or refurbish parts, so inspect them closely before buying.

If you have an old car or junk vehicle to sell, Langston's may take it. While their website doesn’t list junk car purchases, many Tampa salvage yards do. For a list of local buyers, see our directory of junk car buyers .

I’ve bought parts from them for years with no issues—until this time. Got a bad part, and they refunded me right away. At least they handled that part right.

They quoted me $2,200 for a transmission, with $650 to start. I left $1,500 and dropped my car off before Christmas. A week later, they said the shop lift was broken, so it’d be delayed. Another week, and they told me I had to pay the full amount before they’d even start. Two pies of money later, my car finally got to the shop on New Year’s—I know because my doctor’s office is right next to the repair place. Almost a month of waiting, a bunch of excuses, and who knows how many lies just to get my car running. I won’t name names, but they’ll say anything to get your cash. ---

Went in for a part, paid cash, and when I brought it back the next day, they wouldn’t give me cash back—just a check. They’ll take it back, but the whole cash thing is a hassle. Not the best way to run a business. ---

Walked in to buy a transmission they said was in stock. Right when I was about to pay, they hit me with a $200 core charge. Nowhere on their website did it mention that. I come here all the time for parts for work, and I’ve never had to pay a core charge at a junkyard before. Auto parts stores? Sure. But a used parts place? Not cool. They’re being shady, so I left. ---

Needed a transmission for my 2016 Tacoma, so I called their number. The first guy I talked to found the part and sent me to Brett at the actual store. Brett was fast, helpful, and even hooked me up with a shop to do the install. Got my truck fixed the very next day. No complaints—Brett at Langston’s is solid. ---
