M & M Auto Parts is a self-service auto salvage yard in Chesapeake, Virginia. Since 1960, it has helped local mechanics, repair shops, and car owners find used parts for all makes and models. The yard is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and closed on weekends.

What to Expect at M & M Auto Parts

This is a self-service salvage yard, meaning customers browse the lot, find the parts they need, and remove them on their own. The yard doesn’t offer part retrieval services, so you’ll need to handle the work yourself.

You’ll find engines, transmissions, body panels, interior parts, and mechanical components from various vehicles. Basic tools are available on-site, but bringing your own is a good idea. A valid driver’s license or ID is required to enter.

If you have an old car to get rid of, M & M Auto Parts may take it for recycling. For cash offers and vehicle removal, check our cash for junk cars page for local options.

The guy who helped me find the part for my car actually walked outside to double-check it matched what I needed. No guessing, no "close enough"—just made sure I got the right thing. That’s the kind of attention you don’t always find in places like this. ---

The guy there was friendly enough, but they didn’t have much for my Nissan—no rim, nothing. They did have a decent selection of cheap Chevy parts, though. Not a total waste of time, but not what I was looking for.

I bought a used engine from them, and they swore it was in good shape—even showed me a video of it running. Turns out, it was junk. After wasting a week of my time trying to get it to work, their management told me *I* must’ve messed it up during installation. Later, I found out the car they pulled it from didn’t even have a key, and the timing belt was installed wrong, bending all the valves. Only after I threatened legal action did they finally give me my money back. ---

Howard McLain is the worst salesperson I’ve ever dealt with—no people skills, no communication, just pure incompetence. I’ve spent tens of thousands with M&M, but after this, I wouldn’t give them another dime. They blame *you* for their mistakes, never apologize, and send the wrong parts constantly. And don’t even try talking to upper management—Jeff Sours (their COO) just hides and expects *you* to fix their problems. If you’re buying used parts, watch out. They act like their junk is brand new and can’t admit when they’re wrong. ---

I called ahead to this location before driving 40 minutes just to confirm they had the part I needed. The website said it was in stock, but when I got there, it wasn’t. The same person I talked to on the phone acted like it wasn’t their fault for misleading me. Turns out, "in stock" just means *somewhere* in their system—this time, it was in Fredericksburg, not Chesapeake. How is that not lying? As someone who works in customer service, this is beyond frustrating. Now I’m paying extra to ship the part, and I won’t be back. M&M can’t even guarantee what they say they have. ---
