Services & What to Expect

Metalico Rochester is a self-service yard, meaning you find and remove parts yourself. The inventory includes:

  • Engine parts (blocks, transmissions, drivetrain components)

Honestly, this place is exactly what it says on the tin—a scrap metal recycling spot. If you’ve got old metal lying around, they’ll take it off your hands and pay you cash right then and there. The prices for copper and brass seem fair, but I’d double-check their website first to make sure they actually want what you’re bringing. No point driving over if they won’t take it. ---

I’m a regular here—stop by once or twice a week, easy. The prices are fair, and the guy at Door 8 (the medal room) is one of the friendliest people I’ve met in a long time. Same goes for the woman in the scale house. There’s another scrap yard closer to me, but I’ll drive the extra two miles just to deal with folks who actually treat you right. Keep doing what you’re doing. ---

The people running the scale here move like they’re on island time. You pull up, sit there for 15 minutes, and still no one’s ready to weigh your stuff. Not worth the wait—go somewhere else.

If I could, I’d give these guys ten stars. First time here, and everyone was so damn helpful—like, genuinely nice. I had no clue what I was doing, but at every step, someone was there to walk me through it. No attitude, no rush, just good people doing their job. I’m definitely coming back. ---

I had this giant 80-pound cast iron sink taking up space in my garage, and Metalico made it stupid easy to get rid of. The whole process was smooth, no hassle, even though I wasn’t some big-time customer dropping off a truckload of stuff. Friendly, no-nonsense—exactly what you want when you’re just trying to clean out your garage. ---
