Overview

Newark Motor & Export Corp - Newark, NJ

Newark Motor & Export Corp is a self-service auto salvage yard and export business at 241 Avenue P in Newark, NJ. The yard sells used auto parts for repairs and restorations, and it also handles vehicle exports through Port Newark. Customers can browse the inventory on-site and remove parts themselves, making it a good option for DIY mechanics and car owners on a budget.

Services & What to Expect

Newark Motor & Export Corp is a self-service salvage yard. Customers find and remove their own parts—no help is provided, so bring your own tools. The yard also exports vehicles, including chassis and container shipments through Port Newark, but this is separate from the salvage operations.

How Self-Service Salvage Works

To get parts at Newark Motor & Export Corp, follow these steps:

  1. Visit during business hours (see location section for details). The yard is closed Sundays.
  2. Search for your part by browsing the inventory. Vehicles are grouped by make, model, and year, but the layout can change.
  3. Bring tools and safety gear, like gloves, a jack, and any special tools needed for removal.
  4. Take the part yourself—the yard doesn’t assist with extraction.
  5. Pay at the office before leaving. Prices depend on the part’s condition and demand.

What Parts Are Available?

The yard carries parts from a mix of vehicles, but stock changes often. Common finds include:

  • Engines and transmissions
  • Body panels (doors, hoods, fenders, bumpers)
  • Interior parts (seats, dashboards, trim)
  • Suspension and drivetrain (control arms, axles, differentials)
  • Electrical components (wiring, sensors, lights)
  • Braking parts (calipers, rotors, master cylinders)
Since parts aren’t listed online, you’ll need to visit in person. The inventory is best for budget-friendly, used parts—not new or OEM components.

Called Joe about an AC compressor—he had it in stock, gave me a fair price, and I picked it up the same day. Now my car’s AC is working again. Simple as that. Thanks, Joe. ---

Honestly, calling Newark Motors and talking to Steve changed the game for me. For the last month, he’s handled every part I’ve needed, and I’m not looking anywhere else. This is now my go-to spot for auto parts—no contest. From the first phone call, he didn’t treat me like just another customer. He made me feel like I was talking to a buddy, not someone trying to sell me something. That kind of service doesn’t come around often, and that’s why I’ll keep going back. ---

Absolute nightmare. Ordered an alternator yesterday, paid for it, and they told me to come by today to pick it up. Waited forever, and the guy at the front desk finally told me the tow truck driver forgot to drop it off—even though I was sitting right there in the waiting room. Should’ve known better after seeing another guy wait forever for a fan they couldn’t even find. Now I’m out the money, the refund’s not back yet, and it’s almost 5 PM—other junkyards are closing. Won’t be able to get this fixed until tomorrow. Stay away from this place. Go somewhere else.

My son messed up—pulled the trunk release instead of the hood, didn’t close it, and the whole thing flew off at highway speed. Bent the hood, cracked the windshield. Not fun. A junkyard near me sent me to two places, and I called Newark Motors first. Spoke to Carlos, who was really nice. Told him what I needed, and they actually had the right hood for the year and model. Getting there was a pain—Google Maps sent me on a weird route—but it was worth it. They pulled the hood down for me to check, and the price was fair. It had some rust, but they’d warned me about that upfront. Still way cheaper than a body shop’s $400+ fix. The whole thing—helping me, loading it, checking it out, paying—took about 15-20 minutes. Carlos even said if it didn’t fit right, they’d take it back. Got it on my son’s car in 15 minutes, and it fit perfectly. Even looked decent (just gotta figure out how to get the painted numbers off). Whole swap took about 15 minutes with my son helping. Definitely going back if I need parts again. ---
