Overview

P & C Auto Recyclers at 2520 Byron Rd, Tracy, CA 95377

P & C Auto Recyclers is a self-service auto salvage yard in Tracy, California. Customers can find used auto parts from junked vehicles and remove them on their own. The yard has been around since 1983, originally started by Paul and Carol Cervenka. It’s open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with no weekend or evening hours.

Services & What to Expect

P & C Auto Recyclers offers a simple self-service setup for finding affordable auto parts. The yard holds a large selection of salvaged vehicles—cars, trucks, and SUVs—with parts ranging from engines and transmissions to body panels and interior components. Customers handle the work themselves, though tools may be available for rent or purchase on-site.

How Self-Service Works

  • Browse the yard: Vehicles are grouped by make, model, and condition. A map or directory at the entrance can help you find what you need.
  • Locate your part: Use the vehicle identification number (VIN) or part number to track down the right car. Some yards offer catalogs or online tools to check inventory ahead of time.
  • Remove the part: Bring your own tools or rent them from the yard. Gloves and goggles are a good idea for safety.
  • Pay for the part: Prices depend on the part’s condition and demand. The yard may charge per part or by the pound for scrap metal.

What to Bring

  • Tools like wrenches, sockets, and pry bars—or confirm if rentals are available.
  • Safety gear, such as gloves, goggles, and steel-toe boots.
  • A vehicle to haul parts, since some are heavy or bulky.
  • Cash or a credit/debit card, as payment methods vary.
  • Part numbers or VINs to speed up the search.

Parts Inventory

The yard stocks parts from a variety of vehicles, though exact listings aren’t public. Common finds at salvage yards like this include:

  • Engines and transmissions (domestic and foreign models).
  • Body panels, including doors, fenders, hoods, and bumpers.
  • Interior pieces like seats, dashboards, and trim.
  • Suspension and drivetrain parts, such as control arms, axles, and differentials.
  • Electrical components, including wiring harnesses, sensors, and lights.
  • Braking system parts like calipers, rotors, and master cylinders.

For the latest inventory, check the P & C Auto Recyclers website or call (209) 833-0418. If you’re looking to sell an old car, consider cash offers instead of scrapping—see our cash for junk cars page for options.

I called a bunch of junkyards looking for a Camry rear door, and most of them either didn’t have it or quoted me a ridiculous price. Then I talked to Greg at this place—he had the part, gave me a fair deal right away, and didn’t make me jump through hoops. No in-person visit, no video call, just a quick call and it was done. Trusted his word, and it worked out perfectly. Simple as that. ---

I don’t usually leave reviews, but John at P&C made my first salvage yard purchase so smooth I had to say something. He didn’t sugarcoat the 2015 Taurus—told me straight up it had 106k miles and even gave me the VIN to check. Then he mentioned the valve cover was cracked, but since I was cool with it, he sold it to me. When the engine showed up, it was cleaner than I expected. The delivery guy even set it up exactly how I asked, no mess, no fuss. All of this while I was at work. Honest people, great service—definitely buying from them again. –Alex, A-Money Automotive ---

These guys didn’t just give up when they couldn’t find the part I needed. They spent real time digging, and when they hit a dead end, they actually pointed me to another shop that might have it. No attitude, no “sorry, can’t help”—just straight-up helpful. If you’re looking for parts, start here. They’re the kind of people you want on your side. ---

I’ve dealt with bad customer service before, but today at this salvage yard took the cake. John was downright rude the second I mentioned I didn’t have an invoice number. Then I said I was paying with a credit card, and he lost it—yelling about how he’d already told my coworker they didn’t take that card. Like, seriously? Just say “we don’t take that” and move on. No need to scream at someone for asking. Businesses should at least pretend to be helpful when you’re trying to pay them. We’re done here. ---

I wish I could give P&C more than five stars. Greg and John aren’t just honest—they go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of. I was warned over and over to watch out for shady dealers when I needed an engine for my truck, but these guys were the opposite. From the first call, they were upfront, answered every question, and didn’t try to hide anything. If more places operated like them, the world would be a lot easier. Can’t recommend them enough.
