Overview

Payless Salvage Auto Parts at 2121 W Broadway Rd, Phoenix, AZ

Payless Salvage Auto Parts is a self-service auto salvage yard at 2121 W Broadway Rd in Phoenix. They sell used and salvage auto parts, including engines, transmissions, suspension parts, axles, body panels, and scrap metal. Customers pick out and remove parts themselves, making it a budget-friendly option for DIYers and repair shops. The yard also buys scrap metal and unwanted car parts, paying cash on the spot.

Unlike parts stores, Payless Salvage is a self-service operation. You find, remove, and haul away parts yourself. They don’t disassemble vehicles for you, but you’ll pay less than at dealerships or auto parts chains. New inventory comes in regularly from salvaged cars, so you’ll find parts for many makes and models.

Services & What to Expect

Payless Salvage is a self-service yard—you handle finding and removing parts on your own. No professional disassembly is offered, but you get access to a large stock of used auto parts. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Self-service parts removal: You browse the yard, pick the part you need, and take it yourself. Tools may be available to rent or buy on-site.
  • Wide range of parts: The yard stocks engines, transmissions, suspension parts, axles, body panels (doors, hoods, fenders), windshields, bumpers, and interior components. Scrap metal is also available for recycling.
  • Cash for scrap metal and car parts: They buy junk cars and scrap metal. Pricing depends on the material’s condition and type. For details on selling a junk car, check out the cash for junk cars page.
  • No disassembly help: Parts are sold as-is, and you’re responsible for removing them. Some may need cutting or welding to get out.
  • Free delivery (orders over $50): Orders over $50 get free delivery in the Phoenix area. Smaller orders may have fees—ask before placing an order.

The yard is open to the public during business hours, no appointment needed. Bring your own tools, gloves, and a way to haul parts. Safety gear like gloves and goggles might be available for purchase.

Payless Salvage doesn’t offer warranties—parts are sold as they are. Check them carefully before buying. For tips on picking used auto parts, visit CarCar’s Used Auto Parts Guide or ask the staff for advice.

I had an engine put in here back in April 2024. A few months later, my car started leaking oil. After throwing more money at it, my mechanic told me the oil pan wasn’t sealed right during the install—something that should’ve been caught in a basic inspection. When I called the shop about it, they brushed me off because “it’s been over a year.” Never mind that Arizona law says hidden issues like this count from when you find them, not when they happened. I’ve spent over $2,300 fixing their mistake—more than the engine cost. They don’t care about doing the job right, just taking your money. Don’t go here unless you’ve got no other choice. ---

Honestly, this place is one of the better auto parts shops in Phoenix—maybe even the top three in Arizona. The brothers who run it are always on their game, and they’re just good people to deal with. I messed up an order once, and instead of making me jump through hoops, they offered to refund me right away. I told them no, I’d just wait for the right part, and they didn’t push it. That’s the kind of place this is—fair, easygoing, and actually helpful. If I need parts, I’m coming back. ---

Eddie and his brothers at Payless Salvage Auto Parts are the real deal. I’ve dealt with a lot of auto shops, and these guys stand out because they actually care. Eddie’s customer service is solid—no fake smiles, just straight-up good help. They don’t just sell you a part; they make sure it’s the right one, explain things clearly, and don’t waste your time. You don’t find that everywhere. I’ll be back, and I’m telling everyone I know to go there too. ---

We walked in just looking for a few options, but left with way more than we expected. The whole crew was great, especially Eddie—he knew his stuff, didn’t try to upsell us, and got us in and out the same day with a solid deal. No hassle, no runaround. If you need parts or help, this is the place to go. ---

Skip this shop. I called ahead, gave them plenty of time to get the part ready, and they told me 45 minutes. I drove an hour to get there, and Victor acted like I was bothering him when I said I wasn’t happy about waiting another 30 minutes. Oh, and the rim I got? Badly damaged. They never mentioned that on the phone when I asked how it looked. Rude, unprofessional, and not worth the trouble.
