Overview

Pick-n-Pull at 9605 NE 76th St, Vancouver, WA 98662

Pick-n-Pull is a self-service auto salvage yard in Vancouver, WA, where customers can find used auto parts from cars, trucks, and SUVs. The yard follows a "u-pull-it" model—you bring your own tools to remove parts from vehicles on-site. This location has served the Portland-Vancouver area for years, offering a wide selection of engines, transmissions, body panels, and other automotive components. The yard is open to the public during set hours without needing an appointment.

Services & What to Expect

Pick-n-Pull is a self-service salvage yard, meaning you handle part removal yourself. The yard has a large inventory of vehicles in different states of disassembly, so you can browse and pick parts directly from the cars. Common items include engines, transmissions, doors, fenders, bumpers, and interior components. Tools aren’t provided, so you’ll need to bring your own.

How Self-Service Works

  • Show up during open hours with your tools and a clear idea of the part you need.
  • Find the vehicle with your part by checking the yard layout or asking staff.
  • Remove the part yourself—no help is given for disassembly.
  • Pay for the part at the exit or designated payment area (prices vary by part and condition).

What to Bring

  • Basic hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers)
  • A jack and jack stands (if removing heavy parts like engines or transmissions)
  • Gloves and safety gear (the yard can be dusty with sharp metal)
  • A list or photo of the part you need for reference

Parts Available

The yard stocks parts from a variety of vehicles, including:

  • Domestic and foreign cars (Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, Honda)
  • Trucks (Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, Toyota Tacoma)
  • SUVs and crossovers (Jeep Wrangler, Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V)
Popular items include engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior trim. The selection changes as new vehicles arrive and others are stripped.

Selling a Junk Car

If you have an old car taking up space, you can sell it for parts. Many salvage yards, including local cash-for-cars buyers , pay for junk vehicles to resell or recycle. It’s a quick way to clear your property and get some cash back.

Gustavo really stepped up when I needed help finding parts—way more than I expected. The whole team here is solid, but he went the extra mile this time. Always a good experience, but that one stuck out. ---

Google says they close at 6, the sign says 5, and if you show up at 4, they tell you they’re shutting down in 30. No one’s even out on the yard half the time. Whoever’s running this place is clueless—false advertising, bad communication, and the kid up front with the glasses? Needs to learn how to talk to people. Do *not* bother unless you’re ready to deal with nonsense. Pick n Pull, fix your act.

Paid $400 cash for a used transmission, but they didn’t include the torque converter because it was almost closing time. Drove 30 miles back to the job site, only to realize I needed it after all. Figured I’d have to bring back the old one since you’re not supposed to mix torque converters between transmissions. Called back, and they said sure, just return the cores. Drove another 30 miles, got here, and they hit me with, *"Oh, those aren’t included—they’re sold separately for $68."* Total waste of time and money. Don’t trust the info you get over the phone. ---

Tyler was a standout. Knew his stuff, treated me like a person, not just another customer. More places should have employees like him—makes all the difference. ---

Had to leave a review because Collin and Mateo in the front were *that* good. Both of them were friendly, actually helped me track down the right part, and made the whole process smooth. Not every place has people who care this much—shoutout to those two. ---
