Overview

Pull A Part - Phoenix, Arizona

Pull A Part is a self-service auto salvage yard in Phoenix where customers find and remove their own parts from junked vehicles. You pick what you need, take it off yourself, and pay by weight. It’s a go-to spot for DIY mechanics, car owners on a budget, and anyone looking for affordable used auto parts. The yard is at 320 South 27th Avenue and is open every day from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM—no appointment needed.

Services & What to Expect

Pull A Part sells used auto parts from cars, trucks, SUVs, and other vehicles in different states of disassembly. Tools and equipment are available to rent on-site, and staff can help point you to the right part if you’re not sure where to look. You pay a flat rate per pound for what you take.

How Self-Service Salvage Works

  • Browse the yard: Vehicles are grouped by make and model, but the layout is open for searching. A map or directory is usually at the entrance.
  • Find your part: Use the vehicle’s VIN or model to track it down. Some parts are already removed and stored in bins.
  • Remove the part: Tools like wrenches and pry bars are available for rent. Wear gloves and safety gear—some parts are sharp or heavy.
  • Weigh and pay: Bring your parts to the checkout scale. Payment is due when you leave.

What to Bring

  • A vehicle to haul parts—some are large or heavy.
  • Your own tools if you have them (rentals are available).
  • Gloves, safety glasses, and work clothes for protection.
  • A list of the parts you need, including the vehicle make, model, and year.
  • Cash or a debit/credit card (check the website for accepted payment methods).

Parts Available

The yard stocks a variety of used auto parts, such as:

  • Engines and transmissions
  • Body panels (doors, hoods, fenders)
  • Interior parts (seats, dashboards, trim)
  • Suspension and drivetrain components (control arms, axles, differentials)
  • Electrical parts (wiring harnesses, sensors, lights)
  • Braking systems (calipers, rotors, master cylinders)
  • Exhaust systems (pipes, mufflers, catalytic converters)
Inventory changes often as new vehicles come in and parts are taken out. Call ahead or check the website for updates on specific makes or models.

Called ahead to make sure the wheels were off the car I needed parts from—guy on the phone said they were. Drove 20 minutes for nothing. And get this: they charge $3 just to look for the part, no guarantee they even have it. Total waste of time and money. ---

Place doesn’t open until late, so plan ahead. The lot’s huge—walking takes forever, so bring a come-along or rent one. Prices are dirt cheap, though. Staff actually know what they’re doing, which is a nice surprise. ---

Took a buddy here who’d been hunting for a part for weeks. Dude lost his mind when we found it—like a kid on Christmas morning. Made my whole day seeing him that happy. Small thing for you, huge for him. Thanks for keeping this place running. ---

Got close to the part I needed, but it was stuck. Sending my nephew back tomorrow with the right tools. At least I walked away with the shifter knob I’d been looking for. Sawzall blade bit the dust, though—oh well. Worth the trip.

Honestly, this junkyard’s my little escape. No crowds, no noise—just me, the parts, and the occasional joke from the staff. They’re good people, always willing to help. Prices are fair, and I usually find what I need. Only downside? The place is a mess—parts everywhere, and yeah, it’s mostly customers leaving junk behind. Still, four stars easy. ---
