Services & What to Expect

Redwood Recycling is a self-service yard, meaning you’ll need to search the lot yourself for parts. They carry a variety of used auto parts, such as:

All parts come from salvaged vehicles and may be in different conditions. The yard doesn’t list inventory online, so you’ll need to visit in person to see what’s available. They also take in scrap metal, including copper, aluminum, and steel. If you have an old car to get rid of, they accept junk vehicles for recycling. While they don’t currently advertise a public car-buying service, they may still process vehicles for scrap. Call ahead at (801) 758-7219 to check their current policies. Needed to recycle a bunch of aluminum cans and figured I’d give this place a shot. Super easy process, the staff was quick and helpful, and the prices weren’t bad either. No complaints here. ---

This place is seriously the best. I’ve been to a bunch of recycling spots, and none compare. The prices are fair, and the staff? Absolute gems. Even when I realized I could’ve broken my stuff down further for more money, they let me take it back to do it right. Not every place would’ve been that cool about it. ---

Every time I go there, it’s the same mess. First visit, some guy told me, *"We don’t take trash,"* and tossed a washer box at me like I was in his way. Today, same thing—*"We don’t take trash"*—but then he started yelling at me to grab a microwave box and throw it out. I said no, I’d put it in my truck myself, but he just kept throwing stuff in anyway. I get they don’t want trash, but the way they talk to people is ridiculous. They need better-trained staff, or at least people who know how to treat customers. ---

The lady in the office was downright nasty. I weighed my stuff, went inside, and she snapped at me for being impatient—like I was waving down employees or something. Then she had the nerve to say she could read my lips from 100 feet away, talking to someone in the yard with my back turned. Not the first time she’s been like this. I’m done. Good luck with that attitude. ---

This is one of the better spots in the Salt Lake Valley for scrapping extra metal and making a little cash. Their ward program is a nice perk too. Only thing that could be better? More points for cans. Still, I’ll keep coming back.
