Honestly, I’m not one of those people who strips cars for a living—I just end up with random metal bits lying around after projects. Brakes, old shelves, lawnmower blades, a busted file cabinet, you name it. My buddy’s got a boat, so he hauled it all to my trailer for me, and I took it to the scrapyard as his payment for helping out. The whole thing went smoother than I expected. The people working there were actually really nice, not the kind of place where you feel like you’re being rushed or ignored. If you’ve got scrap to unload, I’d say give them a shot. ---

This yard and the crew here? Solid. They don’t just take your scrap—they’ll actually tell you if breaking it down first will get you a better deal. Chris, Evan, Donnie, and the rest of the guys are all good people. If you’re not sure about something, they’ll walk you through it without making you feel stupid. Not every place does that. ---

Today was a mess. My husband and I called ahead for a quote, wrote down everything the guy on the phone told us, and even rented a U-Haul to drop off a washer, dryer, mini fridge, and a small freezer. After unloading all of it ourselves, we got a check for $41. Not even cash—just a check, which is annoying even if I *do* have a bank account. The whole thing felt like a waste of time and money. If they’d just given us the right info upfront, we wouldn’t have had to deal with any of this. ---

Ethan and his team came through when we needed junk hauled off our property. They showed up when they said they would, kept us in the loop, and didn’t leave us waiting around. Easy to work with, and I’d call them again if we’ve got more stuff to get rid of. ---

Avoid this place if you’re looking to scrap metal. We showed up with a metal desk, and they tried to tell us it was wood. Even after proving it was metal, we had to beg the crane guy just to unload our trailer. Then, when we went to get paid, they made us take a picture of the desk and said we couldn’t cash the check for an hour because *maybe* the metal was stolen. Allied in Metter’s got way better people, fairer prices, and actual help when you need it. Don’t bother here.
