Services & What to Expect

Salvage Hunter Auto Parts is a self-service salvage yard. Customers find and remove parts on their own. The yard has a large inventory of used auto parts from different vehicle makes and models. Visitors can bring their own tools or buy basic ones on-site if needed.

How Self-Service Works

  • Browse the yard: Walk through the inventory of junked vehicles to find the parts you need. Vehicles are grouped by type, but parts aren’t labeled.
  • Identify parts: Use the vehicle identification number (VIN) or part numbers to match what you need. The yard doesn’t list its inventory online.
  • Remove parts: Bring your own tools to take apart and remove the parts. The yard may rent or sell basic tools if you don’t have your own.
  • Pay for parts: Prices depend on the part’s condition and demand. Ask staff for quotes before removing parts, as prices aren’t listed online.

What to Bring

  • Tools for disassembly (wrenches, sockets, pry bars)
  • Gloves and safety gear (parts can be sharp or dirty)
  • Vehicle details (make, model, year, and part numbers if available)
  • Cash or a payment method the yard accepts (check their website for details)
  • Transport for parts (some may be large or heavy)

Ordered a starter for my car, and they gave me the wrong one. Not cool. ---

The people here are actually nice to deal with, which is rare for a junkyard. Prices are fair too—no hidden fees or overcharging like some places do. ---

Sat around for three hours just to be told they couldn’t get the hatchback window out of the car I needed. Complete waste of time. If they knew they couldn’t do it, they should’ve said so upfront. What’s the point of waiting until tomorrow if they couldn’t get it out then? Just bad business. I’m done with this place.

Google says this place closes at 5:30, but we showed up at 4:45 for a brake booster. The manager was already walking out the door. When I pointed out the website said they were open until 5:30, he just shrugged and said, *"So what?"* We drove two hours for one part, and he couldn’t even be bothered to let us grab it. Meanwhile, Otting and Sons down the road stayed open, had the part for cheaper, and treated us like actual customers. Don’t go here if you expect basic courtesy. ---

I’ve been hunting everywhere for a spare for my used car, and nothing was priced right—until I found this place. The guys here are solid, the prices make sense, and I’m done looking elsewhere. This is where I’ll be getting all my parts from now on. ---
