Shorty's Used Auto Parts - Bridgeport, PA

Shorty's Used Auto Parts is a self-service auto salvage yard in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania. Customers can find used car parts, scrap metal, and other automotive components here. The yard follows a "u-pull-it" model, meaning you locate and remove parts yourself. It’s open Monday through Saturday, with shorter hours on Saturday, and closed Sundays. The business has a 4.2-star rating from 299 Google reviews, showing a mix of feedback from past customers.

Services & What to Expect

Shorty's is a self-service salvage yard, so you’ll search for and remove parts on your own. The yard carries a wide range of used auto parts, including engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior components. Tools are usually available for rent or use on-site, but bringing your own tools is a good idea.

The yard doesn’t offer professional part removal, so you’ll need to locate, disassemble, and extract parts yourself. Pricing depends on the vehicle’s condition and part demand—some parts are sold by the pound for scrap. Check the website or call ahead to confirm part availability, as inventory changes often.

If you have an old car you no longer need, Shorty’s may buy it for scrap or parts. For quick junk car removal, check our cash for junk cars page for local options.

What to Bring

  • A vehicle to haul parts (they’re heavy and bulky)
  • Basic tools like wrenches, sockets, and pry bars if you don’t plan to rent on-site
  • Gloves and safety gear (salvage yards can be dirty and hazardous)
  • Cash or a payment method the yard accepts (check the website for details)
  • A list of parts you need (inventory changes, so confirm availability first)

What to Avoid

  • Open-toed shoes (debris and sharp metal are common)
  • Bringing children or pets (salvage yards aren’t safe for them)
  • Removing parts without paying (theft won’t be tolerated)

The old pull-it lot shut down a few years back, but this spot still acts like a hub for finding parts. They don’t keep a huge stock on hand, but if they don’t have what you need, they’ll check with other yards in the network and point you in the right direction. Works for me. ---

John and Eddie at this place are the real deal—no nonsense, just good mechanics who know their stuff. They treated me fair, didn’t overcharge, and actually made the whole process easy. Not every shop does that. ---

I needed a specific radio, and Shorty’s in Bridgeport came through—exactly what I wanted, at a price that made sense. Jay handled it, and the thing was shipped out the same day I called. No hassle, no waiting, and it works like new. If you’re looking for parts, start here. ---

My name’s Mark Tomasovich—my wife’s name’s on the account, so that’s why her info shows up. I called Ty about a part, and he was straight-up helpful. Told him what I needed, he found it fast, and I picked it up the next day. Made what could’ve been a pain in the neck totally simple. Ty, you’re a lifesaver. I’ll be sending people your way.

You-pull-it’s a decent-sized yard with a solid mix of parts, motors, and cars to pick from. They’ve got a scale if you’re scrapping, and you can grab used batteries too. Not the biggest place around, but they’ve got enough to make it worth a trip. ---
