Been to three different Sims scrap yards now, and honestly, they’re all pretty much the same. The process is simple enough—except for the fact that this is the only place I’ve ever been where they take pictures of everything. I get why they do it, but still. Big companies like them always pay the lowest rates, like it’s some kind of rule. I got $95 a gross ton for light iron here, then went to another yard the next day and got $130 for the same stuff. Guess you don’t get to be the biggest by paying fair. ---

First time going alone, but once I figured out where to go, it was smooth. The scale clerk pointed me in the right direction, no hassle. The guy running the yard was patient when I wasn’t sure where to dump my bucket of scrap—didn’t rush me or act annoyed. Even the kid in the precious metals shed was friendly. Definitely coming back. ---

Called this place for the first time to ask about pricing, and the woman in the scale house wouldn’t even give her first name when I introduced myself. First impression? Terrible. I’ll take my business somewhere else.

Absolute scam. We brought in clean cat food cans and aluminum foil, and they called it "dirty metal" just to lowball us—only $0.20 a pound. $0.20! We had 320 pounds, so that’s $67 total. On the drive home, I called another place and told them what we had, and they said it was worth $0.57 a pound. That’s $120 we lost. Don’t waste your time with Sims—they’re garbage. ---

These guys make it simple to drop off scrap, and the staff’s always friendly. Every load I’ve brought in, I’ve walked away with decent cash. If you haven’t tried them yet, it’s worth a shot. ---
