Overview

Stokes Auto Parts - Jefferson, Maryland

Stokes Auto Parts is a self-service auto salvage yard in Jefferson, Maryland. Customers can find used car parts and scrap vehicles here, with a focus on affordable repairs, restorations, and DIY projects. The yard operates on a "u-pull-it" model, meaning you search for and remove parts yourself. They also take in junk cars for scrap, though pricing and purchase details aren’t listed online.

Services & What to Expect

Stokes Auto Parts is a self-service salvage yard. You’ll find wrecked, salvaged, and scrap vehicles with parts like engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior components. Tools for cutting and disassembly are usually on-site, but bring your own if you need something specific.

How Self-Service Works

The process is simple:

  • Visit during business hours—open Monday through Saturday, with Saturday closing at 3:00 PM.
  • Find the part you need—vehicles are grouped by make, model, and condition, though the layout can change.
  • Remove the part yourself—tools like saws and wrenches are provided, but check if you need something else.
  • Pay for the part by weight or piece—pricing depends on the part’s condition and demand.

The yard doesn’t offer part lookup services, so you’ll need to know what you’re looking for or be ready to inspect vehicles carefully. If a part is damaged after removal, returns aren’t allowed.

What Parts Are Available?

Stokes Auto Parts stocks a variety of used auto parts, including:

  • Engines and transmissions (domestic and foreign)
  • Body panels (doors, hoods, fenders, bumpers)
  • Interior parts (seats, dashboards, trim)
  • Suspension and drivetrain components (control arms, axles, differentials)
  • Electrical parts (starters, alternators, wiring harnesses)
  • Miscellaneous parts (headlights, taillights, mirrors, glass)

Inventory changes often, so popular parts may sell out. The yard focuses on common vehicles from the last 20–30 years, not rare or classic cars.

Junk Car Disposal

Stokes Auto Parts takes junk cars for scrap, but the website doesn’t list pricing or how to sell your vehicle. If you need a quick sale with pickup included, check out cash for junk cars services for a simpler process.

My customer was stuck 8 hours from home after some hack mechanic ruined his car, and I needed a spindle fast. These guys had it in stock, and he was back on the road in no time. Solid people—would send anyone I know their way without hesitation. Seriously, they saved my ass (and my customer’s). ---

We drove all the way to Pennsylvania looking for a specific transmission, and let’s just say we were ready to throw in the towel. Then we found Stokes Salvage. The guy I talked to on the phone was a lifesaver—knew his stuff, didn’t waste time, and got us exactly what we needed. Still grateful for that. If you’re in southern PA or Maryland and need parts, these are the people to call. ---

First time here, and I was only stopping in because Beltway Used Auto didn’t have the window regulator for my Optima. But the guys in the office were chill, and the one who grabbed my part? Dude knew exactly where to find it and didn’t make me wait. Appreciate it—might be back. ---

Do not waste your money or time with Brock’s. The guy running the place is unprofessional and rude. I paid good money for an engine he swore was tested, drove three hours to pick it up, and it was full of water. When I brought it back, they just wanted to swap it for another junk part. Absolute scam—avoid at all costs.
