Tri-State Iron & Metal Co "Scrap Yard" at 1725 E 9th St, Texarkana, AR 71854

I’ve waited in lines before, but nothing like the disaster at Tri State Iron and Metal. The whole thing moves at a snail’s pace, and the employees behind the counter don’t seem to care. One guy spent more time watching people park than helping customers. And here’s the kicker—there’s *no sign* telling you where the line even starts. We stood there for nearly an hour, only to be told we were in the wrong spot and had to go to the *back* of a line where four people who showed up after us were already ahead. Unbelievable. I’m not wasting my time there again. ---

I drove all the way here with a truck full of scrap, thinking I’d get a fair deal like the ads promised. Three hours later, I was still waiting for someone to help unload—no one even bothered to check on me. When I finally got inside, they acted like I was wasting their time. The worst part? They paid me for *number 2 copper* when what I brought was clearly *number 1*. I even have the receipt and pictures to prove it. And don’t get me started on the aluminum rims—one had a little burn mark, another had some paint, and suddenly they acted like I was trying to dump trash on them. Oh, and if there’s so much as a pine needle in your bins? Better start picking. We’re in Arkansas—there are *trees everywhere*. I get that they don’t want garbage, but come on. The whole experience was a mess. The scales aren’t even visible to customers, so unless you already know your weight down to the pound, you’re just guessing if they’re ripping you off. I’m done with this place, and I’d tell anyone else to avoid it too. ---

Stopped by with a few radiators to sell, and the guys were real helpful. Funny enough, my buddy Michael used to work there, so they knew who I was talking about. Made the whole thing easy. Would go back if I’ve got more scrap to unload.

This is the closest scrap yard to my house, so I end up here a lot. It’s actually one of the cleaner ones I’ve been to—no major messes or junk piled everywhere. The guys who work there are always friendly when I come by. Prices aren’t as good as they were last year, but it’s still the easiest place for me to dump my scrap without driving forever. ---

Got hired to help with a shutdown out here, and it was a blast. TSI&M’s got everything running smooth—new equipment, organized setup, the whole deal. The crew was solid, too. If you’re into this kind of work, it’s a good spot to be. ---
